I hate building things..lol. This is getting ridiculous. Don and Rob man I have been thinking about the same issues. As far as another cab to house the stuff, it would be getting pretty big. Especially since mine is metal i would probably be best on getting another identical cab. My total lenght would be 9'. As I have done my more testing, I have alos seen my temps get as high as 91...

Those damn water coolers are pricey... I actually think it would be kind of cool to add another 3x2x6.5 steel cabinet. I mean the entire thing is still only 2 ft deep, so it really wouldnt be THAT intrusive. Just would look like a big external closet. I have noticed in past grows i always was hiding nutes, tools, extra res's, bulbs, bud dryer, etc all over or leaving them out. That kind of kills the idea of stealth all together. I mean your op is as only as stealth as your weakest link right?

If I had a 3rd cab, I could take a 1ft of the width for a larger flowering chamber. making it 4'x2'. I really didn't want it that large as im just growing for personal use, but i dont want to waste space. I could then add a water cooler, window air conditioner, and dehumidifier into the remaing of the cabinet all towards the top/middle. I would also have space for hiding nutes, tools, extra res's, bulbs, bud dryer, etc.

Well a third cabinet would make it larger it would definitely really increase my stealth.
1-Allow me to run a totally closed system so smell wouldnt be an issue whats so ever
2-With the AC I can turn down my light fan making the cabinet quieter.
3-Once again, consolitdate all the tools

This would be quite pricey though.. Probably looking at like a grand...But i think we have all blown cash on stupider shit. This set-up will last me years and I have already invested a good deal. Plus i think it would save me timeand headaches controlling cetain variables down the road..

What do you guys think? Am I being stupid? Kinda just want to get it over with and order one..dont want to regret not going "fullmetaljacket" style and change my mind down the road and have them quit making that model of cabinet or something.

Don, question about the window AC units. I know i already asked this but im not sure if you knew exactly what i was asking..or if you were speaking of your window ac unit or window ac units in general.

I have looked everywhere for this and looked a diagrams and everything and get somewhat of conflicting answers and the diagrams dont show dividers real well. Help me out bro...

Does the AC unit recirculate/cool the room air? meaning

-Does air from the front of the unit ever exit out the side that would hang out the window?
- An vica-versa; would air from "outside the window" ever be cooled and enter the cab?
-Do dehumidifies work in the same manner as far as keeping the air sepearte?

Rob - That picture was just of my painting adventures... The vent goes on the side of my cab for covering intakes and covers a hepa filter. The vent is used in the cab for veg ducting... LOL I see how that pic can be confusing though...

DO IT, DO IT, DO IT!!! Looks like you have the money so you have to do it, you can make more. I would do it in an instant if I could afford it.

The AC and humidifier are necessary if you want to do it right, plus with the extra flowering room you can do a nice DWC setup. I've asked about the AC as I want to do this and no it does not let air through it. The air coming out the back isn't from the cab. Not sure about the humidifier though.

Well get ordering and put that plasma gun to work!

I just may do it..need to think about it a bit. You think a dehumidifier would be better right not humidifier. I cant imagine i would have to raise the humidity. I know ac dehumidifies but im afraid i will be loweing my temps too much if the ac keeps kicking on for dehumidification purposes...

I was planning on spending like 1500 total on my whole OP as im not really loaded but i do ok. That being said this thing is way over budget... Want to look at like an investment/hobby though...

The AC does recirculate the room air (without bringing in fresh air or exhausting old air)
The dehumidifier will not work that way. It will need to have its entire body in the cab I believe. At least that is the way I have to do it. It sucks air through the back, through the coils and blows the dry air out the front.
Yup, you want to Dehumidify, not humidify.
The reason I am going with both units, is for the the same reason you said, I am worried it may overcool if I use the AC to dehumidify.
I would not store nutes in the extra cab. Try to keep them in a cool dark spot. Makes the shelf life a little longer.

I really did not mean for you to take me serious when I said 3rd cab, but if you got the space and money, do it up (this time I am serious). You'll like the extra flowering space, even if you are a personal grow only.

If i dont like the flower space I am going to use soon, I am going to change it to use the whole cab and just build accessory cabs for the gear on the sides of the existing cab. It will give me another almost 7 SQft more flower space, and with SOG that means alot more plants.

Kinda funny how the spending can get out of hand with this "grow addiction" (gone way beyond hobby at this point)/"investment". Not going to add it all up until I am setup totally. I can't let that total price tag deter me from spending money where I need to. Thats why I engineer and build what I can.

I thought about it and decided against the 3rd cab for a few reasons...
1. size (i would only net 3 cubic feet of storage)
2. AC and dehumidifier would be loud.
3.AC and dehumidifier would be way too powerful for that 36 sq feet. Wish i would find like 2000 or 1000 btu but i cant.
4. AC ventalation(cooling rear end) would be difficult. I have a plan drawn up to do it and materials list but it doesnt look like fun...
5. Sounds silly but i really have no use for the additional buds.

Think i will be building a thermoelectric device to accomplish both... Should cost less than $200 and work better and be silent(except for fans).

Here is what i would have done if i was going to add the third cab. Notice the only difference is the addition to the cab on the far left. I ordered another identical cab just in case that i will use in my computer room and can always add it later if i change my mind. Just didn't want them to stop making this model in case i needed one.

WC-Water Cooler
AC- Airconditioner
Dark box is the AC.

thanks again for stopping by and checking out my thread. We are very similiar lol, great minds huh? Anyhow, I love that Fatmat, I was looking to do 1/4" neoprene that I was going to apply with a 3M Super 77 adhesive, but that looks very cool. I think my Frankenstein of a Cab, just picked up a piece of Full Metal Jacket, thanks bro. Cant wait to see some updates on your design.
