Superstealth growbox construction

So a little background info:
This cannot be found by even family members friends etc (including friends who smoke and would be down with me growing )
I'm using my night stand as my box which is from what ve seen using SOG and LST methods the smallest I can go
I'm going to use the drawer on top for the carbon filter and mounting the lighting ect and was going to mount that in a small box in the drawer that i can keep locked (say its my personal stuff ) and allow the drawer to be opened and closed with out revealing the plant below.
I have everything somewhat worked out except the fan for bringing in fresh air. I need something almost dead quiet

Looks sweet. Here are a couple recommendations:

1) Computer fan. You can actually ask for quiet fans that will make practically no sound. And when I say "practically" I mean it's damn close to no sound. You'll still need something in your room that creates ambient sound (i.e. table fan, computer, etc.)

2) If NOBODY can see this you need to do something a little tricky. Odds are somebody will go into that cabinet either being curious or looking for something. Seal the front door. Make it only able to open from the side or the back.

That'll make it, as you say, "superstealth"

Happy growing! ^_^

Well that sounds good for the fan problem i have a computer that is loud that i normally run
And I wanted to use the front door as my actual access door so I'm going to drill a hole in the top of the door and the separating bar (between the bottom of the drawer and top of door) and just drop a thick pin down that i can pull the drawer out and remove the pin to get to the grow space.
Any other recommendations are welcome
Thanks for above help + rep

Sounds like a great plan in motion. I see what you say about the locking pin. I'd do 3 of them to be extra safe. If it dont open, someone might "Pull a little harder", and pull that single pin right through. Three would make that harder to do. The Pc Fan will have to be mounted on the rear up high, and that will be a problem I assume?

Should not be a problem to put a fan there as long as its quiet
No one has opened that door in a year lol so if anyone tries id be surprised.

I want to go with some Northern Lights #5 because of the low odor and small space it takes up. Rather than bag seed which may be a huge sativa or something.

Im going to head to home depot to scout out stuff I need
What type of lighting do you think for the box and should I go mylar or white paint

And Ill try to make the 2x2 inch screen for my scrog attempt

thanks for the help

For reflection, Get Sta Kool white elastomeric roofing compound. HD has it.
HD also sells security lights that can be dissasembled (fluoro, and HPS) and would be perfect to use in there.

Lighting is something I know about! lol. For compact spaces like that, heat can and will also be an issue. Look around and try to find the highest wattage CFL (Compact Fluorescent Light) you can. For veg. you will need a "Day Light Spectrum" bulb, which will be 5500-6500k color. These are those energy saving bulbs, the ones in a spiral shape. Home Depot only had up to 23w, Walmart had up to 27w, and Tractor Supply has some 65w. For best results, go with the highest wattage you can find in a 5500-6500k color. Must be over 20w or else they will kind of be pointless.

When you get ready to flower, you will want to one again find the highest wattage bulv you can, but this time in a 2700k color. The veg. lights will be more blue/white, and the flowering bulbs will be more of a red color.

Now, CFL's are not as good as HPS lights, but with boxes as small as that, it will be your best bet. HPS would get way too hot for that small of space. Even with the CFL's, make you you have at least one exhaust, if not two. I am going with one carbon exhaust, and one that just sucks the warm air away from the lights.

HTH,
Sparky

I just bought some for my current grow. Tis SUPER STEALTH and i dont even want a handle/lock on it...so..i'm getting this thing called...

TOT-LOCK

It's a magnetically keyed lock..the lock is on the inside...and you have a magnet you hold to it on the outside and it releaases...without the magnet..its latched...

So..no keyhole...no latch..no nothing...completely stealy..completely secure...

Just google it..you'll have lots of luck w/ it i feel.

I have seen those things. Just never thought about incorporating them into a cab. Great info.

haha ive had folks asking why my drawers wont open and i tell them its because i have a magnetic lock for storing my tax files and other important documents securely.
no one tries to lift it before they pull so it never opens on them.
they never know why im laughing either.

Was actually at a hotel where they used them for the pool gate. I was like WTF, and then the pool attendant came over with this little wand and released the magnet lock inside it, and opened the gate. Where can you get these from??? Not that I need any, but would be cool to know if I do someday.

This is exactly what I want to do. I'm planning on trying my first grow soon, and I don't feel like I would need a gigantic grow box just for one or two plants. I also planned on looking around a Salvation Army/Swap Meet to find a good night stand(the one you have is exactly the one I picture in my mind).

The only difference is that I wont have to be so careful with tons of locks or anything, since I live alone.

I really hope you can post some updates before I start mine. I might just do exactly as you do and hope we both get some good results.
