I'm looking to start a hydro grow and was looking at this:

along with a 400w hps, would this system be adequate for 4 plants or is it lacking in any area?

It lacks a smaller price tag. I think thats over $300 in the US. You can make it cheaper. Look for DIY Hydro here on GC. You can even purchase systems that are similar and way cheaper as well.
