Help with amateur grow please

hey all, so i've finally decided to start up a private grow stash and I'm musing some dro seeds i picked out as experimentation and planting them in soil. I have 4 small plants that i water with boiled (and cooled) and filtered, room temp water. For light i have been using the natural sunlight that comes from my windows, however i have no direct sunlight (lots of trees). For soil I'm using a Hyponex potting soil with perlite and sand and no added fertilizer. My main concern is how to provide enough light. The sun doesn't last for more then 12 hours at best and even then it is as i said, indirect light. Any thoughts on lighting techniques for 4 small plants that would be space and cost efficient would be greatly appreciated. I dont think i've left anything out, if i have then please tell me. You can get some cfls for cheap. Check the link in my sig it shows what I used it was pretty cheap too. I got the bulbs at 1000bulbs.com they're the 30watt ones for $3 something each get 2700k and 6400k.

ok i think i found them. The warm white ones? i know that cool whites arent good to use. I also need to buy some kind of lamp, preferably small and not something i would have to hang. any ideas?

read up in all of the stickies..But for veg the cool CFLs are better and for flower you can use warm CFL's of a small 250/400 watt HPS set up depending on how big you want these plants. read read read... but good luck!

can i just use like a desk lamp or something for them?

you say that you want to grow. but you want to use a desk lamp to feed your plants.
then dont cheap out if your going to grow do it right!

well i wanted to know to know if i could put cfl's in a desk lamp because i've heard people say it before, but ur advice wasnt even advice man, ur just ragging on me. i already made it clear i wanted cheap yet efficient ways of doing this, you didnt even offer to help in anyway...nice

here is some advice that is real advice. REALLY.

if you are too lazy to do even the most basic research, or too poor to buy a couple of cfls and the proper fixtures, then there is a 99.9% chance that you will have an EPIC FAIL at growing marijuana. (but there is that .1% chance...)

i'm not saying that this advice applies to you, so please, do not be offended.

and yes, a desk lamp will hold a cfl just fine! Good Luck!

if u want cheap fixtures just go to the hardware store and look around the lighting section. pic up some light sockets, (about a buck or so a peice) and some plugs. anyone with common sense can wire these things up, and if your that dense they come with instructions. hang them from the ceiling of the cab with some hooks. you can buy a pack of these for around a dollar as well. all together the fixtures should cost you about 2-4 dollars per light. if that.
