Hiding a whole room.

I have my closet grow room covered by a book case, a big ass tapestry that covers 3/5 from top to bottom and some boxes. It looks like theres no door on the wall. But I was thinking, is it possible to use drywall to make a false wall that can be moved when you want to get in the room? I have some ideas, I was wondering everyone elses.

I've seen a couple fake walls on hinges in the back of closets but thats about it as far as moving walls. I'm always looking for stealth so lets hear your ideas.

Anythings possible.

You good at engineering and handy work? A 2 axis track system would work nicely. One axis to push the wall inwards allowing it to move behind another wall, the second would be allowing the wall to slide open. I can picture it in my head. Have a martini mixer in there and you're good to go 007.

That sounds like a sweet room. Wonder about power and ventilation thou, either way G'ma might not appreciate it, lol.

Take the door down, and build a bookcase into that area. The shelves come out, the backing is held in place by the shelves rear pegs.

Give me some schematics of the room you wanna hide and the room you want to hide it in. and give a description of the wall which leads to the hidden room.

Pictures would be a help.

I can design you something.

I was thinking of something slightly different. Imagine some shelves sitting on the floor maybe 2' high. then you have a special set that lock together like a lock and key. Conceivably one could slide one shelf into the other and have the back wall attached to one shelf. and it would open a passage.

Everyone looks at the book shelf room. However, the knee high shelf... hard to spot.

Maybe a single book could be the door handle and pulling that back unlocks the shelf from the wall.

tbh best way would be to just wall it up, have no door at all. Entry point is from the roof..

you could use drywall just put a frame it sits on and then find a way either slide it or put it on hinges then again you would have to paint it a darker color to make it seem like the lines arnt there, i guess you would have to have an extremly close tolorence from fake drywall door to real wall to keep any seems from showing.

hey i got it you can use dry wall with a wooden frame behind it, just put hinges on the right side of the frame screw it too the real wall and you can use door locks to hold it shut on the top and bottem and use say a candle stick or something stealthy to pull the door locks out and swing it open. if i got time and you reply tommarow early morning ill draw something up too illistrate what i mean.

This was what I was thinking of but I'm kind of stumped as to how to go about it. I'm very intrested in your design.

Idk if you have an attic, but you could always completely close off the closet with dry wall and make an entrance from the attic above. Idk ive never seen it done but it would be interesting if the room was big enough and could possibly work
