Instead of those

get 2 of these
get 2 of these
get 4 of these

Get some aluminum (a flat bar to mount sockets and a sheet for reflector), a replacement cord (2-12 extension cord with plug in and no receptical), all from Home Depot/Lowes And make your own for $70 to $100 cheaper. Wiring CFLs is a cinch.

But yes, they would be good lights for a small grow.

Well if you want to use 18 bulbs you could go with the above. You'll need 9 lamp bases and 9 Y splitters.

What you recomended will come to about $200 for the ligts not including shipping. If you buy 13-30watt cfls it will come to $44.33 not including shipping.Even if you some how spend $50 on sockets and y adaptors which you wont you would still only spend $100 instead of $200. Both our recomendations will have a total lumen output of 26,000lumens but yours will use a total of 500watts and mine only 390watts. IMO I would rather spend less money and use less electricity using 13 bulbs rather then spend almost 4x the money and use 110 more watts of electricity and get the same thing. Again this is my opinion you might disagree and thats fine.

And to answer your question....No I don't think its worth it. Your better off buying a hps if your going to spend $270, unless you need to use cfls for some reason and even then you can get a better cfl setup then that for $270

Not disagreeing at all. I just said If You want to use that many bulbs. We don't know the setup. Some choose to spread it out, some need a compact fixture. I agree on the Hps note for sure. But usually when i see CFLs, it usually means they need to use them for some reason or another.

Bet you will also cover a little more area with the 13 bulb set up.
