Pics -- Please Help

Well I took some pics, Im debating whether I want to intake from the ceiling of the cab or from the top of the back panel. That is, like this??

Or like this??

Heres the cab right now

Lemme know... Im thinking I can atleast cut the left side hole cuz I know where that will go. I want to attatch it to the fan and see what my temps are like lol.

Ive been waiting for this cab and Im getting impatient lol

Well, I really couldnt wait so I made the exhaust hole, and hooked the fan up.

It was a bitch fitting the fan in the rubbermade w the ducting attatched and for a sec I thought I had fucked up lol but it worked nicely. Ill put some stuffing in there around the fan to kinda muffle it more, but its pretty quiet especially with a dimmer on it.

NOTE TO SELF: dont close a cab that has no intakes while running a vortex thru it. lol talk about a vaccum I almost couldnt open it. The thing almost tipped towards me rather than open lol and its a huge cab!!! So intakes are important lol.
Heres a pic of what it looks like with the fan in the tub. Im thinking Ill intake thru the back of the cab and just put a box next to the tub, this might look more random. this cab will eventually be in a garage.

I put shorty underneath the 600 to see whats what. The thermometer is giving me mid 70s, but the door is open, so not sure what that means. Let me know what u guys think about the intake.

K more pics later today prolly. Im also thinking of the best way to "reflectify" the sides of the cab.

That one, my man, is going to be answered by you. Personal pref here. Either will work.
Seeing how tight the ducting is is why I asked lastnight about space on the edge.

Love that box on top, looks right at home. Do the same thing with the intake, and especially if you put it in the garage, get a box like you have and put the holes in the lid, and fit the lid with a cheap blue Furnace filter to prevent any debris from getting into the light and fan, those vortex are powerful.

you Like that suction? LOL

I love how u keep changing the avatar between creepy guys lol. that last one was startgng to disturb me lmao.

Im thinking Ill exhaust out of the back. And Im thinking Ill use a 6" drain grate, which Ill drill the grate out and layer some tight mesh screening over for a filter??? what do you think?? Im going to get the drain grate right now and thinking of any other supplies Ill need

wish I could get lightproof passive intakes right now!! I have to wait and order the darkroom vents. Guess Ill just cut some holes in the bottom that are smaller than the darkroom vents and let her get used to the hPS for a few days till the vents come??

Still dont have my cab exhaust fan anyway but I want to be able to close the cab lol.

hey have u seen my dayton axial fan?? Any idea how to diy a little power supply for that?? I have no cable for it.

Thanks for noticing the avitars. I love changing them. The creepier the better. Hope that last one didn't make you lose sleep. LOL

All sounds good. I forgot to add that you can use KILZ fungicide flat white primer for good reflectivity and a little extra mold control.

The little faqn you have is a 115v unit. Just get an old extension cord and chop the end off and wire it up. If both wires on the fan are the same color, you have a 50% chance of getting it right the first try, otherwise switch the wires. I guess to be safe, you should probably put the connections in an electrical box.

You know, that would probably work as your cab exhaust being that you are cooling the light, but a carbon filter won't work too well on it. Is odor going to be an issue?

Also, what do you mean by "DARKROOM VENTS"?

Im gonna have to ask u more about that primer in a second. And thanks fot the tip on the fan, Ive done that with other smaller fans (in my veg cab) but they always had cords running out out of them. So use any 12v charger right??

Here is a link to the darkroom vents I use for lightproof passive intakes.

DARKROOM VENTS

I got some supplies and Im bout to make my little 6" flange filter thing and post some pics.

Ive ordered a 95 cfm fan for my outtake and I will be using a little 4" filter for smell.

Ill link those items on my next update.

The cab exhaust fan should be here any day.

no. That fan is 115volts. Gotta use regular power on that one.

more pics

Not sure what u mean exactly by regular power, could u elaborate??

Well I rigged up some ghetto mess lol

Got a 6 inch drain grate and some filter material, went to work

Kinda messed up the 6 inch grate, not exactly what I had in mind, but this will work for what Im using it for though its not too pretty.

Made a hole and put the veting thru it

And made a ghetto filter.

Lol thats aluminum tape not duct tape, put it around the edges cuz they were sharp in places.

Hope this works well. Think itll strain the fan??

And heres the cab right now, closed. Still got a little light leak to deal with.

So the light is vented now, now I need the cab vented lol.

Peace out and let me know!!

I realized I never answered this question, I figured in the 12 inches of space I would need when I was looking for a hood. When I saw how small AWs hood was and how good his results were, I knew I had found a winner. Props to A Dub again!!!!!

So I knew itd be tight but that Id have space. And its JUST enough.

Snap a pic. What monitor did you get?

And as far as power cord goes, Get an old extension cord (or new) (two prong) and cut the outlet head off saving the Pronged end to plug your fan in with. I take it that fan has two wires?

Glad you got enough space there. Looking good, and no one will ever see that vent.
