My New Cab

AW yeah this is the mondo flowering cab, no way Im running out of space with this one, I should even be able to flower some SWAZI in this bitch. I thought about doing two layers of hydro in one cab but nah, I might leave the option open tho.

K well, first things first, lets hang this bitch. I can at least do that.

And I cant make the vent holes yet cuz I dont have my fans, but I know Ill want 3 or 4 strain reliefs. This is so I can 1) wire thru the light to the ballast, 2) wire IN the CO2, and 3) wire IN a power strip probably and 4) another one that Ill probably need for something. Maybe even another lol. So I can make at least one of those now and wire the light out, power her on and see what type of temps were dealing with.


Small eye hooks but they're sturdy, X marks the spot so I pushed a LITTLE forward just to make sure the doors close nicely.

The strain relif is hanging there cuz I need someone to push it against the inside wall while I screw the other side in lol. My boys off caking with his woman so I gotta wait lol.

The thing on the floor is a dope ass Thermo controler that I will have controlling the cab exhaust. It was reading high 60s but its on the floor so . . . Ill get some better temp data when things are really set up.


This is the lady Ill be flowering in this cab 1st. The original 517 Mother. She is from a SUPER dank local bag of "MASTER KUSH" From a local SFV club that just names shit whatever. This bud was dank and I bought a few bags of it before I found a seed. Only ever found one seed in it and I smoked a bunch of it. The seed sprouted to a lady and here she is. I have spread some cuts of her around SOCAL and have heard good things from club owners. I cant wait to bud her.

Her name is Shorty

Think I MIGHT xplant her to a 5 gallon right before I flower her but she hasnt been in the 3 gallon long. Im expecting great things from her.

Got my light exhaust fan today, a 6" vortex!! The thing is fuckin bigger than I thought!!! I was planning on keeping it inside the cab but now Im thinking itd just waste too much space, so looks like itll go on top maybe like my other cab. Let me know what u guys think.

Dealing with 6" ventilation is a lot diff than 4" lol

Well the fan is so big that Im rethinking everything.

Im thinking Ill cut a 6" hole in the ceiling of the cab, and put the fan in a rubbermaid container on top. This is basically what I did on my first cab. I wanted to have it all contained within the cab but I feel like Id be wasting too much grow space. This way I can maximize the room in the cab and hopefully bud some big sativas.

So before I cut any holes Id love to get some input on this, if anyone thinks this is a bad idea let me know.

Lookin good over here! THose vortex are large. Here is a thought. Place the light as high as it will go, put the exhaust fan inside the cab on the light, and raise your plant and lower it as needed instead of raising your light as needed and having the plant on the ground.

Yeah Ive thought about this before. I just foresee certain minor complications, especially if I want to do a scrog. Or ebb flow trays. Im sure it could be done but I think all in all this will be less cumbersome. I really dont want to have to move the plants if I dont want to.

I was just going to edit and say, that if youre going scrog it wouldnt work. I was thinking of the bends in the ducting. Do you have at least 8" clearance between the flange on the reflector and the wall?

Im gonna pipe the intake flex ducting for the light all the way down the inside corner of the cab too, sacrificing even more room but oh well the plant can grow up against the ducting. Ill pipe it all the way down thru the adjustable shelf and out the very bottom of the cab, what do u think??

Well If it is just cool the light, it can be drawn in from the side, intake don't have to be down low if you are not using it to vent the chamber.

I think it would seem almost more in the way in the middle of the cab. Itll be cool man ill just grow around it. I want my ventilation to be the main concern. I think Ill have room. And Ill have AC in this room so I wnat to take in from the bottom for cooler air.

{EDIT} or should I intake form the top of the cab?? that would save me a lot of space

eXACTLY. Top would be fine if room is AC. Maybe exhaust one direction on top and draw from the other

do you plan on using C02 in there? If not then how bout 1 6" exhaust at the top and 2 6" passive on the bottom?
just leave one end of the hood open with no ducting.

if your gonna do CO2 then just do what don suggested imo.

Only when using it for whole room vent, not if you are using it too cool the light. If the bedroom is AC'd it will be fine. I have to do the same thing with the cab I am making (minus the tub)
