subscribed!! Good Luck, I am in the middle of planning an attic grow...and can use all the help/ideas i can get. My attic is not vented like yours, only small vents at the top. Praying my ventilation system is sufficent. Heat/Ventilation..the enemies of an attic grow!!

The heat factor is why I am going Sealed and air conditioned, with seperate light cooling. Heat should not be an issue and a filter on the front of the AC will keep air clean. Dehumidifier will dehumidify at night as well as keep temps warmer at night in the winter. Co2 will take care of , well co2. The heat of the attic scared me a little and so I planned that basement closet grow. did not work out as planned on the dry tomato run, My intake came from a room with high humidity (all cement), so to the attic for the fully sealed. Good luck on your planning and thank you for watching.

Thank you. Would like to see plants in a room but it's just impossible right now. I have everything i need right now except a couple gallons of white elastomeric roofing compound.

Could be up and running If I just woke up one day and the pieces were magically assembled. Not happening. So.. Few mins here Few mins there......I guess soon enough, can't rush this type of shit, takes planning.

I am starting to think (which happens alot being that its taking a long time) that my attic temps may get too hot for my AC unit, and possibly too hot to cool the light properly. So I think I may have to install an attic vent fan, because as it sits now, the attic has two vents, that do not cool it by any means. So I am hunting down a solution to that problem tonite. It can not be anything mounted to the outer roof, I have nosey neighbors, and they will ask.
The hunt is on!

i have not read the hole post so i dont know if anybody has told you . Know a closed growing enviroment means you are not bring in air but you definately have to exhaust the stall air its a must bro.

That would not be a CGE. A True CGE recycles the air. Stale air? When augmented with Co2, Air Filtration, and circulation, there will be no stale air. The whole point of CGE is being a Entirely Closed Growing Environment , no intake, no exhaust.

Anyway on a different note, thanks OrganicDIY for subscribing, and the props.

Here is the finished CoolTube. Just "Engineered" it about 5 mins ago.

Had to fabricate its little electrical box from the original (huge) unit. That was a little fun for the day.

just thought i'd feed you a couple of cuts taken from an article i found when i googled "Closed Growing Environment".

Quote:
CGE eliminates problems caused by exchanging air with the outside world. One air exchange problem happens when cannabis produces heady odors due to evaporation of volatile terpenoids; these odors, when dispersed out of the grow room, can alert police and rip-offs.

Non-CGE growers spend lots of money on ionizers, ozonators, and other devices to prevent odor vectoring to the outside world, but CGE is the most cost-effective, efficient odor control method because it does not allow air to escape the grow environment.

Instead of bringing air in from outdoors, the fan and carbon filter clean the air in the grow room.

The CGE method also eliminates problems caused when untreated outdoor air brings insects, fungi, spores, molds, and even hemp pollen into a grow room.fficeffice" />>>

>>
Charcoal filters eliminate odors and pathogens; the charcoal in them should be replaced every four to eight months. Growers recommend locating charcoal filters at the top of a grow room so they are easily connected to venting systems, and because warm air rising in the room often carries with it the most pungent odor particles.>>
>>
CO2 augmentation is necessary in a CGE environment because air is re-circulated, instead of having fresh CO2-rich air brought in from outdoors.

CO2 augmentation is useful in most indoor grow environments, even non-CGE environments, because CO2 speeds plant growth.>>

>>
A CGE grow cab is like a spaceship, with climate controlled Co2 enriched air flowing across the brightly-lit leaves of healthy, happy plants grown in aerated, fertilized soil. Quality control and security are built in, so spider mites, diseases, rip-offs and other invaders never penetrate the glowing plant chambers.

And that about sums it up.

Hmm interesting post. I have always had the understanding that you had to vent stall air. I hope that you are right because that would solve alot of peoples problems. Thanks for the info. I might just put this to the test on the next round

I just re read what I typed. I may have sounded like a dick (sorry if your name is Dick), I am sorry if i did. It was not my intention at all. It just read bad to me.

Yep it would solve alot of problems, but it creates new ones some people would see as a hastle. Water from the AC, Dehumidifier water, (both are good for watering plants though, PPM about 10 or less) Making sure there is absolutely no air leaks, and proper Co2 control. Most Large Commercial grows are Totally sealed. Obviously larger scale, but all the same.

We got the wall wood cut today, and hauled into the house about an hour ago. (went with oriented strand board. Hold on I know what you are thinking; Not strong enough, too porus, ect... but remember, they will be coated in 2 coats of white rubber, and reinforcement for the AC unit will be used). I hate not having an attached garage like i used to. Hauling supplies from garage to house was easy. Just thankful that the amount of supplies is considerably less than times of the past.

I have a job tomorrow during the day and will begin putting the walls up in the evening.

I dismantled the original flowering cab lastnight, it was a sad sight to take all that hard work apart. While tearing down, I noticed how many things I invested in that will not be needed for my new box. Trying to find uses for them. And realized how many new things I needed to recently buy.

I made the decision that a 1950cfm Gable Fan will be purchased to keep attic temps the same as outdoors (or as close as I can get) in order to make my AC unit last longer, and keep my air drawing through the light as cool as I can.

I thought this small grow would be much cheaper than the old full room grow, but it is getting near the 75% mark now (being that I spent a bunch on things I am not going to use, and on new things I needed). happy 420
