Would like to get a swift response for this question, i wont open the package yet, as if i can get better ill return and upgrade, but will this do "Good?" For my baby clones
If those are standard 4ft shop light T12's, I wouldn't use them,,, they work but T8's and T5's are better. Personally I think T5's are outrageoulsy over priced. Look at HTGS's T-5 lights,,,,

I can pick up 24 inch T8 grow lights from Wally World for $8 bucks. I got 2 18 watters over my cloner, and 3 of those lights over my mums,,, it works surprisingly well.

Personally thou I don't use T12's,,,, take'em back or add to you unused stock pile that you'll soon have like Mordrow and myself.lol... I should buy stock in Rubbermaid!!!

Smart idea on the bagseed, bro

Happy growing!

Alrighty, ill take those lights back, as i was messing more around my clone/mother room 4' lights are really stretching it - That little "Lip" of concrete im using for cloning is only about 4.5 ft - id much rather have 2-3' lights

Edit: Got the mother/clone room Light proof to the flower room, the only light i CAN see is back in the foundation under the house, and it doesnt hit the flower room -

Sorry about not getting pics up - ill get them up soon trying to figure out where im going to put my power strip bar and fan along with a few things here and there, promise pics soon.

Alright Fella's, Here are some pics, Discard the mess of plastic on the wall in the flower room, its just a big piece of plastic covering my basement window for obvious reasons.

I had to put up 2 sheets of plastic to keep this light proof one at the Entrance of the room, and the plastic you see in flower room seperating the mother rooms -

Before you guys jump on me, i know the plastic isnt the best, but it is what i got, and it will work =P

The reflective material you see in the mother room is just space blankets from walmart

Its hard to get a picture of this room, its small compact and i cant back out and take photo cause my heater is in the way ugh - Anyhow you can get a visual on the "Lip" im speaking of above the mother area, i think it will be perfect?

LOL, Sorry too hog it, but I like building grow rooms as much as growing. It's an art with different challenges such climate, space and goals.

To date the best grow room/closet is Rumpleforeskins, hands down. A compact producer! Pm him and ask him to take a look, He's loves to build/modify.

Too enclose that window I suggest at least 5/8 sheet of plywood with black silicone chalking around it, that way it can hold anything you put thru it. I use alot of long decking screws becuz I don't have a framing nail gun... but I do have finishing and brad nailer, air powered.

Too make life really easy on you and end up with a cleaner touch buy some cordless power tools, 18 - 24 volt, skillsaw, drill and sawsall. Geez, they make life easier and afford you the convenience which in turn gives your more creativity. You can buy a set of those at Lowes or Home DePOT, lol.

Hey Dewave, You play Gears of War? Mabey thats a way we can bullshit over the net w/o exposing our IP's?

i keep hearing all this stuff about CoD4, mabey i can rent it we can get er done?

--

Anyhow back to business -

Ive bought a Jigsaw and a Drill so far ( Coorded ) My Budget is getting tighter and tigher, but ill pull through -

Yea i was gonna put some plywood there, Glad you mentioned a size because whatever i would have seen first is what i would have bought ( This room, is the first thing ive ever built, im seriously no handy man lol)

About the window its painted shut, wont open - So i can either put that piece of plywood on the outside and get it REAL snug to the window, and bust a small window out to get my duct through, OR should i just try to take the whole window out? if someone kicked it though, it would come out and expose everything =( not that they couldnt do that if the plywood was in front of the window.....hmmm Suggestions?

Im going to take those lights back today, and i mise as well get that plywood set up - my Bagseed beans havent even sprouted yet, its been 3 days? i hear it takes 24-120 hours so we will see -

Id like to get ahold of you Dewave, either through Xbox live or some crap -

Wish I had a room like that to build. Looks like a hell of a lot of fun.

Spend time thinking out your ventilation. It will be key to a good setup. It looks prime for a sealed grow, but that would be a lot of start-up cash. I would build my vent and then build the grow room around it. Thats how important it is. Upgrade your light packages to cool-tubes.

I think 12 to 15 plants is more realistic for two 600W lamps. More plants won't get you more weed, with that amount of light.

I feel your doing it right going with soil to get things started.

Slow down and take your time building each part. It will save you from tearing it all down and starting over four months from now.

Best of luck, R.

definatly buy with the future in mind. and big fan big carbon scrubber, you can get away learning to clone with out it but with an open foundation like that you are going to need some serious airmovement to keep the smell contained at the size of grow your thinking of going to.

only thing I can think adding to your grow room,.. put something reflective on the floor too, the roof as well, might as well keep that light as contained and usable as possible .

looks great! this is definatly one of the funner stages

Ok, so an update, Ive taken all the plastic off the first attempt - was a sloppy job, and i wasent too proud of it -

Went to home depot today, bought around 6 2x4's and a fucken Hand Saw (lol), Made a door frame onto the existing Temporary wall there, and i gotta say, for me, not being a handy man AT ALL, this was fun! i enjoyed doing this for some reason! lol

so with the future in mind, i was thinking of building a Frame along the flower room, ( Not Section it into 2 rooms ) But rather section it off from the rest of the basement, still an idea in the air who knows! -

So, the mother/clone room IS light proof, and ready to be worked on with lights and fans..

If there is one thing i learned today, is patience - i came into this project thinking id whip threw it, no go. if i could redo everything id save myself a good 200-300 bucks easy - Live and learn!

I have a Question, and remember im in a rental, so im trying to NOT improve on the house too much! -

Should i put some plywood, or just plastic on the roof of my basement?
Plastic seems the easy route, the TRUSTS are exposed thats about it, looks kinda gross spider webs etc ( Old ass house ).

Tomarrow i am setting off 3 insect/spider killer bombs, ill be putting 1 directly in the basement, and throwing 2 of the bombs under the house under the foundation - on and the back end, and then one at the front - Should sorta Sanitize the area eh?

Im going to go over a few things tomarrow, as far as budget, and prices on a few things, and ill be getting my light ordered tomarrow - ill post my list

Not much more to say i guess uploading some pictures -

Mord said something to me about venting through my Sewer vent, so ill post some pictures of this too -

OH! forgot to mention, ive taken back my 100 dollar Dayton blower, and bought myself that Stanley blower, half the price - Same CFM, cant go wrong there, ill be modifying this fan to hook onto some duct, my question is, What is the IDEAL size of duct to use? 4" 6" ? looks like 4" would be easy to hook a dryer hose and run outside, or where i vent out too - Advice?

Small update, but it will do!

3 seeds have sprouted tape roots, so ive got some perlite and added it to my soil, and put some plastic over the cups and set them in the dark, IT BEGINS! yay!

One thing about germination -

ive followed a very reputable method of doing this, i soaked paper towels, wrapped them up, pushed lightly to get the paper to "stick" to the outer shell, put them on top of my computer, under my cable router ( mind you the router was NOT touching , just producing heat onto them ) after 4 days, my freakin seeds still did not germinate -

so i said screw it, tossed them in a cup of water, and over night 3 tape roots appeared, still waiting on the other 2-3

Does putting them in the glass of water help at all ?? What if i had a drop of Superthrive?

Just seems the computer/router thing didnt do anything or if i would have waited 1-2 more days it would have germinated on the computer, who knows?

anyways, got some seeds from a ounce today, thats all for now i guess, just getting the lights ready in the mother room - will update again with the room done i hope

for 120 bucks, i think i might buy

http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct...roductID=48007

For my mother's -

Thing is, i didnt want to worry too much about venting out the mother/clone room -

Will this 250 MH lamp raise the temp in my small room ? i mean it wouldnt be hard to vent it out dont get me wrong, Just hoping with the foundation exposed, i wouldnt have too much trouble..

Edit: was dinking around my furnance in my grow room came across this, looks like a possibily to vent, will this stink the shit outta my house? id assume so- but i would have no clue...

Thoughts?

Also, those lights you see there, are for my clones, i hope this is enough, im almost positive it is, there is 8 lights total, 4x(23watts)daylight 4x(13watts) coolwhite -
