wiring 6kw to a 220 circuit.

OK, Im usually pretty good at this but I wanna see what you guys can throw out there for me. If I wanted to run 6 1000 watts hps off or a dryer outlet how would i wire a junction box. And also if there is a standard washer and dryer outlet next to each other are they running off the same 220 circuit or is it 2 seperate. For example at 4.5 amps I can safely run all those lights on the 1 outlet but is adding anything else fans etc going to throw the circuit all the time? Anyhelp please!!!!!!!!!

ehm ..anyways

6kW on 220V current is like 27A, handling that is up to your wiring.

2 outlets next to each other are most likely connected to the same circuit, meaning overloading 1 will throw off the other too.

4.5A is like toaster current; even 20A on a single circuit is ok [220V]

Standard washers don't run on 220v they run on 120v like everything else so they will likely be different circuits. Be careful, 220v will knock you on your ass!

wow, my bad! I never knew I was gonna get hopped on like this. Maybe, I should word this a bit better. I have 6 1000 watt ballasts that are wired already for a 220 circuit. Now on top of that they are closer to a washer and dryer recepticle then any 120 I have in my house. So Im wondering is it better maybe to run a sub panel down from the box with like 3-4 15 amp breakers split with 6 plugs or is it better to run a 6 recepticle controller from the 30 amp service....

please dont bash me for asking wtf?

that is exactly what you want to do but you wanna replace that 30 amp breaker with a 40 amp. Residential breakers are only rated for a 80% rating. Meaning that 30 amp breaker will tripp.

ok Ive managed to get my hands on a 60 amp breaker panel. Now, my best bet is to run from my original panel into my timer then into the breaker box, then I can feed 6 120 volt receptacles? each of theses outlets can handle 9+amps?

thanks in advance

make sure you ungrade to a 40A breaker feeding the subpanel. 6 1000 watt lights @ 240v equals 25 amp your 30 amp feeder will trip. It wont trip right away it will take a few hours. It will most likely trip when you least expect it. Hey it might not even trup but do you reall want to take that risk
