Cool Cool Tube and ballast questions

I just bought a "Cool Tube" from Hydro Farms and WOW does it make a huge difference. It lowered my room temp by 10 degrees even after i moved the light 1.5 feet closer to my plants!

I do have a 135 cfm blower attached to it because that is the point of the cool tube.

My question is
My old light and ballast could handle both a HPS and MH bulb without the use of a switch or anything.. its an old shitty ballast.

With the cool tube installed, I can only run an HPS bulb.... I know I need a new ballast. Any recommendations? My bulbs are 400w.

I've heard lumateks are efficient and quiet, but can they handle HPS and MH?? Also can they be hand wired?

If a Lumatek is the best option I will buy one but I'd like to order from my local shop because he ships to me for free

I just dont want to get a ballast and not be able to wire it into my Cool Tube.

Cool Conversion Bulb

Why not get a conversion bulb and eliminate the extra ballast?

Red face Little bit of research for you

I found this for you if it helps. They dot not come with any plug assembly but an adapter is available for specialized hard starting units. Im sure you can rig something to convert the hard wire to a plug assembly, but I am not sure exactly what you are trying to acheive. orders@lumatek.co.uk is tech support if you still need any futher info.

H.P.S/M.H - Lumatek ballasts operate both metal halide and high pressure sodium lamps. They will not light MV mercury vapor lamps which are commonly sold in hardware and some hydroponics stores.
*Please note the 750 watt ballast is HPS only.

One or two good lamps with very high strike voltages may also be difficult for any electronic ballast to light; Lumatek has an adaptor available for those lamps. Lumatek ballasts are now internally RF shielded and can be used with standard System Cord sets as available in each country worldwide.
