First Grow room - what am i missing/doing wrong?

alright my goal is to make this post easy to read a follow, and to have done my reasearch so i dont come in here like a true newb.... so here goes nothing.

ROOM SIZE
I have a room of choice but my first problem is that it is very low. its only 5 feet high (8x12x5' feet) can i make this work? can i grow the plant sideways or maybe give them width and not height?

AIR FLOW

I would need an extractor fan with enough CFM power for the room (quick calculation should let me know which one to get.... but thats only taking the air out. would I need another fan bringing fresh air in?

FILTRATION
Possibly eliminating the extractor fan I can get one of these (the room's CFM needed is 480CFM... this CARBON FILTER/EXTRACTOR FAN combo seems really nice and its rated at 465 CFM which should be okay right? (again using this do i need another fan pushing air IN from the outside?)


or this one...


*** on a side note there is an empty duct that is blowing air into this room (dont know why) from the building... will this warm air be a good NEW AIR source?

LIGHTING
I havent figured out how many plants I want to do so im basically looking for a general rule of light to plant ratio?

Or give me an estimate on 10 plants.

Since the room is so low im assuming that i would need side mounted lighting? what wattage etc?

obviously i want dank kron but i dont need a plant that will grow 20 feet as i dont have room for it....are there certain seeds that are better for my low application?

what kind of bucket system can i make myself? I would like to have a system that is all interconnected and has 1 control bucket that i pour all my water and nutrients into

yo u got a nice room - dont worry - u will learn how to train your trees to lay low and give u good yeld - its all here in the forum - before making any steps with lights and air exhaust/intake take some tests of the temprature u got in that room --- think of possible changes of that temprature due to weather or whatever --- after posting that here - ask again --u told u got some warm incoming air and that could be a problem let us know what is the temp of that incoming air --- LIGHTS -- i wouldnt recomend u to use that 400w lights without a powerful cooltube - u havent got a lot of height - and dont forget that 400w lights have to be no less than 1 feet from your plant so u got 5-1=4 - height of your pot or a hydro system (choose a compact one) --- u can make 2x 250w lights and some nice big CFL bulbs at the corners or something like that ---- peace

and dont forget the humidity test - good lights and air flow will dry and burn your weed like it did with my first babys R.I.P.

Okay well it turns out that the room isnt even 5 feet.

Its 5 cinderblocks high. which is 3.75 feet.

Im going to dig 2.5-3 feet down, but so i dont have to haul the dirt out I build a wall about 3 feet high and 3 feet away from the wall so i can throw the dirt behind it.
then once i dig the 2.5 feet everywhere I will dig pot holes of about 1.2 feet down to place my plants in. I will place them in 5s so each plant can have 1 1000watt light.
with light placement (at its highest point I can get my plant 4 feet high then start growing it to the side.





HOW... do i make my plant bushy instead of tall? do i need to use side and top lights? or just side ones will do?

there are many ways of making them shorter... you can top them or i think its called scrog growing where u make little bushes by topping the plants... someone post some more info on suppercropping im still a noob

i must have missed something or u didnt say ur growing outside))) search 4 SCROG method i guess this is the best one for amateurs like us) use as much light as u can on the top and on the sides - there cant be too many - as long as the temprature is ok
