Fan Controler for Vortex :( Bleh
Okies so I hit up Discount Hydroponics and got a FAN-CTR made by C.A.P. i.e. http://www.discount-hydro.com/produc...d=297&navid=29 ,but what I got looks nothin like it and blows @ss. The Vortex 8" fan makes a "humming noise" when its hooked to the controler.
Anyone have any other suggestions on fan controlers? No ghetto dimmer ones plz  I just bought the fan and don't want to kill it :P Thx in advance, Das

There are special dimmer/potentiometers made for fans. You get the same (humming) problem when trying to hook up a ceiling fan to a light dimmer.
Sounds like you got a light dimmer and not something suitable for a fan. |
