For some reason I never saw this thread until now.

I'm planning on building a 4ft x 2ft x 6 or 6 1/2 foot stealth cab for flowering in the next couple of months.

You think you could give me some advice?

I would put one big ass reservoir with two plants and a screen in it. Thinking about a 600 watt HPS w/cool tube or another air cooled reflector and a 400+ cfm exhaust fan and suitable carbon filter and what not.

i would build a res for shure
and i would use a 1000watter instead of 600
the wattage difference isnt so big but outcome is great
whats your plan on ventilation?
not shure if u need a 400cfm fan
thats a crazy powerfull and noisy thing
and i guess u just dont need that much power for that kinda cab
it all depands on the setup and piping configuration tho

Waddup! Thanks a lot man. I think what I'll do is start a new thread in this section so as to get all the help I can.

I think I'm going to turn a coleman cooler into a res. 2 of 'em actually. The reason I want to build this cabinet is so I can have a veg spot and a bloom spot and cut down the time between cycles.

About the fan, I was figuring a 600watt HPS in a cool tube would need some serious air flow. I want to put a carbon filter on one side of the light, run ducting into the light, then more ducting to the fan and out the top of the box. That way there's only one bend and that's to turn it upward to expel the air.

1000 watts in a 4ft x 2ft x 6/6.5ft box? That's crazy talk, man!!!

I'll have the funds to build this how I want it so it's a possibility. I just thought it'd be overkill.

Yeah, I guess 400 CFM would be overkill. I'm looking at a can filter 33 and 200-250 cfm can fan combo type of dealio.

I'll start my grow box thread here soon. Since I won't be really starting the building for another 5-6 weeks, I have the time to brainstorm and really get it together perfectly. Looks like I'll probably go with a 1000 watt air cooled. As long as I can keep the temps down and it's not too big of a power usage footprint I'm all good.

What all did you need to put that IKEA cabinet together btw?

good to hear!! 1000w is the shit for shure!
whats the dimentions of room u gonna use for your cab?
the 1000w can raise temps in the room and the best solution here is air conditioning of the room
you wont need a jet engine to cool that shit if the ambient temp is pretty low
and that also gives a good shance to cool the nutes under the cab)
think about it and draw me some pictures)

u are right there is 400W HPS and about 280W CFLS (4 x 60-85W) on the sides
prolly place em under the screen to put some light on the lower buds
(dunno thay was just layn around and i decided to use em))))
we are planing to change it to 600W HPS soon
now i can give yall one advice is to make your grow box square (impossible in my case tho).
basically its a waste of light - it would be so cool to have 4 plants like that in there)))

ive started planing my new grow)
AND GUESS WHAT!
IM SWICHING TO SOIL!!!!!!!
(looking for any kinda soil tips n stuff - PLZ share me some links if u got any)
and im planing to build another cab!
which will be a 2 floor 80-80cm 200 cm tall DIY box!
take a look at the picture!

on the first floor:
- 3 mom spots
- space for a res and other shit (isolated)
- 3 80w cfls
- passive intake
- 100CFM exhaust with my DIY charcoal filter

second floor
- 4 mature plant spots (square pots about 7-10 kilos each)
- watering system (on timer)
- 600 w hps
- filter connected to a cooltube and out (100CFM)
- 1 aditional filter and exhaust fan (100CFM)
- screen
- axilation fan

im going to use lowpower fans to keep it as quiet as possible!
im also thinking about car noise isolation sheets inside the cab under the astro foil) the doors will have a proper locks also)
the cab is going to be placed in my wardrobe with intake from one room and exhaust to another - that will allow me to control any temps pretty well.

there will be a watering system on timer so i can be almost totally free
hydro was keeping me too close)
