DIY: Mini Bubble Cloner - Cheap and Easy

Mini Bubble Cloner - Cheap and Easy
<HR style="COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message --><TABLE width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD align=middle width="10%">

</TD><TD vAlign=top>Here's a few pictures of the bubble cloner I made. It was super simple.

I bought the following:

1 small aquarium pump
1 package of aquarium tubing
3 packages of 2pcs. T-tubing joints
4 small air stones
1 small ass tupperware
1 filter thing that makes is so the water doesn't go into the pump

What i used:

Drill Bit
Paper Clips

The drill hole was little, i don't recall the actual size, but it was maybe 1/4 at the most I think...

The paper clips have to be bent and opened so they are lightly squeezing the stalks. I wanted to use the plastic coated ones, but didn't have any. The small the better.

The paperclip just keeps the clone from fallign through the holes.

I've so far only rooted 1 clone out of 1 clone tried in this, but planted it too soon and it died...

I'm going to let these root for at least 2 weeks and then tranplant...because if these don't live, I'll really be hurtin'.

Anyhow, enjoy</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

In this type of cloner, does the water level need to be high enough to just cover the bottom of the stems?

Thanks, OGH

You don't want the water to cover the roots, because that would be too much moisture. What happens is when the bubbles pop they splash onto the roots which is just enough moisture to get those new roots going.

Good question!

Re: DIY: Mini Bubble Cloner - Cheap and Easy

wanted to bump this in hopes someone has pics or plans of something similar to what OP is describing in first post. The pics here aren't loading anymore.

This is something I am trying to accomplish (mini bubble cloner) and would like to see someone else's that has proven to work.
