I would just go to home depot, they will have it for sure, I remember seeing one that was 8" and going "wtf would you use that for."

That would be the beastiest paddle bit ever... Straight INDUSTRIAL sized!!!
![]() Hole saws would work better anyways for plastic. My 4" hole saw cost my $20, just got it last night actually so this thread caught my eye. The guy who taught me how to build a bio-bucket (river system) had this great idea of using screws to hold the basket underneath the lid and have a smaller hole than the basket so it kept the light from getting through sides of the basket and into the bucket. He used metal bolts though which I thought was rather uncool for use inside a bucket with water- so I bought nylon bolts instead that won't rust. Hole saws are really cool but get expensive... I've spent probably $80 on them trying to find the right sizes. Gotta take one back actually... Kind of a waste of $10 if I never use it.

ive found that using the "drill" in the middle of the hole saw shatters some plastic that i work with (or maybe its just the cheapass drill i use?) i havent tryed it with out (using just the hole saw) but im going to.
btw, i paid like 60 bucks for the whole set up, the drill, and adapter and a drill bit, like a combo deal.. but yeah, still got raped |

You'll get a very clean hole but you'll need a variable speed drill. Grow On ![]() |

How hot is your hairdryer that it can partially melt plastic? Maybe you have thin plastics in your area. My ScrOG Box has a thick thick layer of plastic, I could never melt it with a hairdryer.

It won't. The idea is to get it WARM. Once it is warmed up it won't have that tendency to crack like you don't want it to. No.. My hairdryer won't melt any of the plastic in my house either except maybe plastic wrap. Heat guns are better though. You can usually pick one up in a hobby shop for around $20-40 (they have other uses like stripping paint and such as well) Grow On! |
