Hello everyone.
I have been browsing these wonderful forums for a good 6 months or so now, and about 2 months ago, decided to start construction of a grow box
The box is finally approaching completion, with only a few details left to complete (circulation and exhaust fans)
Everything is bought from the hardware, general and grow shops. The box was constructed with a budget in mind, but wanting good results still.
I'm growing with a combination of DWC and SCROG, due to the yield and also the available space.
My setup is a mix of various ideas and guides off this site, including the best features (from what i could tell) into what will hopefully be a great little grow box.
The box is constructed from 8mm plywood, with 40x20mm pine as the frame.
There are 2 sections to it, which sit on top of each other, with a removable lid and front, for easy access.
The lid has 2x80mm 12v fans for heat removal/exhaust and the sides have a slot in each for intakes.
The other 2 larger holes are for the ducting on the HPS hood, which will be covered until they are needed for flowering.
A 2 section box was picked so that it was easy to access, and install a SCROG frame.
The lighting is supplied by 8x18w CFL's for vegging, and a single 400W HPS in a custom air-cooled hood (2x240VAC fans, the hood was bent out of an old AT computer case) for flowering. The reflective material is mylar present wrapping, which will hopefully be upgraded after the first grow.
The lighting is hung from chain, which is adjustable in its height, to accommodate as the plants grow.

All the wiring was done by me, using screw terminals and building electrical wiring (perfectly safe, I know what I'm doing with electricity)
The grow system is a 3 plant DWC bubbler, designed so that the lid of the container doesn't have to be removed to check or change nutes. (by using a container and pond pump, along with an outlet tap)
The container is actually opaque black, with a translucent orange lid, which is covered in black plastic, which i had lying around from pouring a concrete slab with dad for the new shed/carport.

What you can't see is the exhaust and circulation fans, with the switch panel as they haven't been installed yet. Later on, they will most likely be upgraded and also have a fan controller installed (it's not the warmest place here).
Temp sensors will be installed in the reservoir, around the box, in the light hood and at the exhaust and intakes.
These sensors give a voltage vs temp reading, so using a multimeter you can see the temperature. (26deg C, gives 2.6V)
Let me know what you think, and wish me luck
I have full plans also, if anyone wants to know how the box was constructed.
I'll also be keeping a grow journal, as a way to contribute back to this great community.
