Im looking to grow about 5-8 plants in a small area, whats the best light size to get this done and where is the best place to get it? Im thinking about only using one light so it wil be HPS as I have been using CFLs before this grow which will be aeroponics. Thanks.

The general rule of thumb for HPS is 50 watts / sq ft. Assuming 1 plant per sq foot (a 5 gallon bucket occupies a little under 1 sq ft) with 8 plants I'd go with a 400w HPS.

im fucking stupid when it comes to lights but how far would u need to keep a 400 watt light bulb from the plants growing if there just sprouting...?

dont use a 400watt hps for sprouting... get some flouros
