Oh dang!! What did I do wrong here?

I just replaced my MH conv bulb and put my HPS bulb in BTW they are 1000 watters and before with my MH I was maintaining around 84 degreee's F and with around 29-35 humidity. NOW I am hitting 105 degree's and 25 humidity....WTF. My grow area is 4 feet wide by 7 feet long by 7.5 feet tall and I have a 255cfm fan for the intake and 270cfm exhaust. The air entering the room is from my house and it sits around 71-74 degree's and I cannot drop the temps any lower as it is freezin in the house now. What happened? why did the temps go up? is the HPS that much hotter? Do I get bigger intake and exhaust now? help me out here peep's....there are some really beautiful NL and Super silver haze ladys in here.

Hmm weird how ya humidity went down,,,, it should have went up.... at least in my experiences,,,, when it goes from veg to flower I have found temps and humidity increase,,, during their transition from veg to flower my plants would transpire or sweat and temps rose by 5 degrees as well humidity ... I do believe HPS bulbs are hotter then MH as well.

Your room is (4x7) x 7.5 = 210 CFM.... now triple that and you'll be able to control the temps and humidity.

Its much easier to decrease your airflow after your grow has started then to increase it.

Thanks broken cage the lamp is aircooled. The setup is -I have a carbon scrubber that filters the air going out and forces it (the cleaned air)through the light hood then on the other side it has a inline duct fan that continues to pull the air on out to where it exhausts it outside the room. The carbon scrubber is about 5.5-6 foot high and on the other end of the room is where the Intake is. The intake is around 16-20" off the ground and right beside a cooling vent so the fan sucks up the cooled air and push's it into the room. Its a crossflow design. Im lost on what to do..

I NEVER had a problem in my past or at my previous grow space. Also I finally got the temps down to around 87-89 bu tthe thermometor and humiditor are only about 20" off the ground. If I move it up to the hight of the plants (about 4 feet tall plus a foot for the pot ) it reads 100 degree's BUT I dont know if its really not that hot or if The light is fooling the thermometer. I do know I can tell a differance in my plants stance because they look a little teeny tiny bit wilted.. ...

I had the same problem when I first grew with 400 watt HID with the humidity going up but I didnt notice a temp change but maybe 2-3 degree's. Now that I moved to a new location and a new room and have everything EXCEPT the carbon scrubber that I had when I was at the last place(before I was useing a ionic breeze for oder control.....I moved to 1000 watt setups so I can produce more and have a neater/nicer setup..But Now I am seriously concerned whether I have made the right choice or not. I cant control this 1000 HPS at all but the 1000 w MH is No problem at all....The only option I seem to have is to put a LARGE air conditioner in the crawlspace and cut some ductwork into the floor to bring in super cold air but then I am running into pulling too many watts syndrome....Help people please.

hmmm, something seems weird. Can ya temporarily put the 400 watter in there and see what happens to your temps.... that way ya can rule out or confirm that it's the 1000 watt light causing ya problems.

Been there done that already...with the 400 I am getting 81-84 degree's. its just that damn 1000w HPS burns like the sun..... I dont have enough room for a swamp cooler in there which I have been looking at SO I think I may end up trying to finish with a 400 and buy a cool tube and get a 6" can fan high flow ...it push's around 460cfm and just do away with all the rest...... I set my room up for 400 watters I guess is what the problem is and never took into account that a 1000 hps burned sooo hot.

You are never going to be able to run the 1k unless you get more air in there.

I run 2 1k's in a 4x8x8 spot and I had to cool them to keep it in the low 80's.

I use an 8" can in, and the same out through a 3' filter.

Yeah, they run hot.
