damn grandparents
ok this is my idea. i am growning with hid lighting at my dads house but he lives in another nearby city so i dont get to go over and see my babies everyday. i really want to see a marijuanna plant grow day by day and when i smoke the dank with my freinds i want to be able to say wow i grew this shit. so heres my problem. i live with my grandparents. my grandma is probly the nosiest person on this earth. she will make up the dumbest reasons to look through stuff unless it has to do with technology past the 70s. being old she has no idea what stuff is nowadays. so heres what i want to do. i want to get a stereo and some old beat up speakers. im thinking of completely stripping the speakers of all the guts and just making one a VERY small scale growbox. i have acces to speakers that are about 12 inches wide 12 inches deep and somehwere near 24 inches tall. i only wanna grow one small plant and i plan to use cfls. for a space like that how many cfls would i need?

You should be good with two 40-watters or three 26-watters, which will put out a bit more than 3000 lumens, which is the suggested amount of lumens per square feet.

ill be the responsible adult and say that you shouldnt grow in someone elses house without their permission. THey are the ones who would take the fall for it if anything were to happen. Wait till you move out and then go at it. Grasscity will still be around to help you then.

how would my old ass grandparents get in trouble if someone somehow found a small plant in their teenage grandsons room? its not gonna be some huge scale thing its just a one small plant thing. if i get caught i get caught. its not like the feds are gonna surround my house with their guns drawn then take the house for one little plant. i think im gonna ignore your suggestion and take my chances. but thank you for being responsible.

well theres a lot of things that can happen...
number 1 rule... dont tell ANYONE!!! Us knowing you are gonna grow is already too many. now to your question. 2 clamp lights with 2 splitters meaning 4 of the highest watt cfls you can find at the store. Be sure to look at the bullbs and fine the dayight 6000k or 5700k bulbs for the vegatative stage. Then when its time to switch to flowering, go with 2400k or 2700k in the highest wattages you can find. 4 bulbs will grow 1 plant very nicely. Now if you rig up 2 cpu fans, 1 for intake and one for exhaust you should be able to fit 1 plant in each speaker box. Go ahead and use the search to find Cutlass' speakerbox grow. He grew 2 plants in a speaker very nicely with only 2 or 3 bulbs i think. g-luck |

duh
WOW it's great to see that you reall care about people. Well first off they can get in trouble cause its their house. Yeah DEA might not surround your house but if cops find you then since it was growing in your grandparents house then they can get their shit confiscated. You really should think before you grow in someone elses house. Oh yeah if your grandparents find it are they gonna kick you out? Questions you gotta ask yourself.
you are being rediculous. i do care about people. im a person. i care about me. i care about my grandparents. i care about my parents and i care about my sisters and brothers and i care about my freinds. i still dont think that my grandparents shit is gonna get confiscated for a tiny ass grow like what im talking about. one mabey two plants a foot tall tops? lets be realistic here. how are they gonna do that. and no they wont kick me out so im not too concerned with that. another thing, im not concerned with the cops finding out. theres no way that they would search my house. the only people im concerned with are my grandoparents. |

i was looking at my girl friends house the other day...
1. 1500 watt electric heater (almost always on) 2 roommate leaves 32 inch tv on for cat all day 650 watts 3 they have a light fixture with 4 100 watt incandescent bulbs 400 watts allways on man i could go on forever... the electric bill was 100 or so dont think that 200 watts or so ( what it would take to grow one plant) will do a damn thing... smell can also be controlled very easy and their are do it your self threads on this site how to build a scrubber. i guess i try to get everyone to grow. geta fucking 42 watt CFL and a seed with some dirt and make mj! its like why the fuck not!  |

three or so compact flourescents arent gonna bump the bill up a noticable amount. my grandparents are really old and dont know what dank smells like. just be safe im gonna get a carbon filter though. |

I think what people are saying is that your putting others at risk beside yourself. All it takes is one asshole cop, DEA or prosecutor and you can take a lot of innocent people down with you. Unfortunately there are plenty out there and they will make everyones life miserable. I would suggest a compromise. Grow a small plant in your stealth box into veg and start a guerrilla grow on public land (read about security and be very careful). You'll get a much better yield, keep the risk low and not have to worry about the smell. We all have nosey moms and grandmas. What I think is a little disturbing to people is the title of the thread. Damning you grandparents to hell, in many peoples view, is not a very nice thing to do. You may not have even meant it so appear so harsh but it does. Its an internet thing.
