For those familiar with aeroponics

So i have plenty of safe secure space and I was thinking of tryin a diy aeroponics system. I was gonna do this using:

•two (sold at 48" long) 4x4" aluminum fence posting with 4 holes in each to support 3" net pots.
•these pots will be suspended above pvc piping that will run the length of this aluminum bases with 2 spray jets under each pot, and drain at the other end using vinyl tubing back to the resevoir.
•below all this (under a table/shelves etc. that the plant sites will be on) the resevoir with a water pump > vinyl tubing> pvc T connector connecting to the 2 pvc tracks in each plant base (fence post)
•timer once every 4min for a full minute.

and you know after writing that roots just occured to me. What a pain that could be and how would this inhibit plant growth?

I would like to tackle a diy project, though are there more cost/efficient prebuilt deals? from what i've seen aeroponics/ hydro kits can get expensive. Just looking for some suggestions. thanks!

My last setup was a DIY Aeroponic setup. I used 4 10' fence posts with 3" holes drilled every 9 inches. I had a total of 40 sites. All hooked up to a 17gal reservoir, timer was same 4off 1on, and I actually had great success with it. Ended up with close to 3 pounds of dried bud, which I admit could have been even more.

First thing I would recommend is using Vinyl fence posts instead of aluminum. Aluminum may react with the nutrients in the water and may have adverse effects on the water. You can get them at Lowe's Home Depot where ever. Other than that your plans shouldn't change.

I can actually send you a PDF of the plans I used. Of course I would also offer up a few minor changes I made that resulted in better setup.

DIY aeroponics is hard work man, make sure to get good drain fittings. You will also have to worry about clogged sprayers so make sure your pump has some sort of a filter at water intake point. I found that 6" or 8" plastic column pipe works well as well if you are building a bigger system.

Yea I'm sure it has it's challenges any suggestions for more efficient hydro build? I just thought it'd be fun/interesting to work on an aeroponics project.

That sounds like a pretty sick setup. yea I'd be interested in taking a look at those plans ecko I appreciate the help.
