I think areoponics is very effective (may be the most effective). I don't do areoponics becuase I'm told they take the most maintenance of any grow style. Any soil type grow (dirt or pete/coco fiber) will be very simple. They tend to have longer grow cycles then hydro, but they take very little effort. I am still told that my super soil bud had the best flavor.

Alright, I'll continue to ask questions on this forum then =). About cutting the leaves off, when the spots first apeared on the first true leafs i let them grow until about 4 sets of leafs, then the spots started spreading so i clipped the infected leafs and watched them for another week. On the plants i trimmed the new leafs and unaffected leafs didnt show any signs of the spots and are doing fine but the ones i left with the spots continued to get gradually worse.. But i just found another problem with leafs on this plant... I'll take some pictures of the leafs when i can get the camera.

I'm not that great with this sorta thing. I bet the "Sick Plants and Problems" forum might be of some help. I can build stuff ok, but not heal very well.

lol alright,

did you buy your cool tube or make it?

how much was your HID fixture/ballast/hood?

i've been shopping around for a HID, HPS system with MH conversion bulbs preferbly 400 watts.

How much did your bill spike the first month? (what hours did you have the bulb on for)

How many plants can be grown under a 400 watt MH and then flowered under a 400 watt HPS with maximum yield (i have alot of room to grow, the room i built is 8 ft wide by 6 ft deep by 6ft 6in tall..., i plan to put a thin wall up in the middle of it splitting it in half to have a flowering room i also plan to get 2 HID systems)

Have you ever purchased seeds from online sites?

I'm also getting a digital thermostat and wiring my single speed Inline fans to it through a relay...should be fun...but it'll be an awesome room afterwards easy heating easy cooling..Also where can i get mylar?..looks so much better than flat white..

Does scrog preduce bigger yields or just makes the plants grow uniformly ..

It was week 3 since i put the seeds into paper towels to germinate.. and the plants on saturday were 6-13 inches tall.. Do those statistics sound right? (Its bag seed so i was already anticipating different growth, i have a few heavy indica's that are pretty short but bushy as shit..)

How much did your co2 setup run you, next year i wanna upgrade some aspects of the room.

About the floro's i have right now, I have 4 growlux 40 watt 48" tubes, 2 kitchen/bath 40 watt tubes, 4 23watt cfls, 1 18" UV light, and 1 cfl spot light.

I bought my cool tube. It was about $100. I got a 400w digital ballast so I did not need to use conversion bulbs (it will light both MH and HPS).

The bill went up around $25 bucks a month.

I run my light on 24/7 during veg and 12/12 during flowering.

I like to do 100w per plant (400w bulb=4 plants).

Yeild depends on a lot of things (plant type, grow setup, skill as a grower, ect). I get about 4-6oz per plant.

I bought my seeds at http://www.everyonedoesit.com/. They say they don't ship to the US, but they do.

I order my mylar from ebay. Look for 2ml thick mylar. 1ml is tuff to work with.

I get an even grow using scrog method. I like all my tops to be the same height.

The CO2 tank was about $60. The meter was $400

Best of luck, R.

The hood came with the cool tube. I paid $150 for my Lumatek 400w digital ballast. I bought it here http://californiahydro.stores.yahoo.net/cosy3.html".

It will be a good move to get rid of your floros and replace it with a HID.

Amazing grow Rumple. Keep up the good work. You're an inspiration. I'm thinking of doing a small bubbler in a computer case with some CFLs. 2 quick questions though. What strain are you growing? I couldn't really tell from the pics, I probably missed it somewhere in the thread. Also how loud are the bubblers? I know you can get air pumps that are fairly quiet but does the bubbling of the water or anything else I'm not thinking of make much noise? Thanks

I can't hear the bubbles or the pumps over the vent noise. Vent noise is 99% of all the rackett. White widow.

i noticed something

It looks like you purposely trim everything below your screen. if i may ask, what is the reason you trim all of that?

That grow was the first time I did that and it was a disaster. I had to cut them down half way through flowering.

I made a deal with my plants: I wont touch a leaf on you if you grow big and fat.
It worked.

I had to let my plants go too long in the clone room because my folks came to visit. I did not want all the blowers and junk running while they stayed here. When I was ready to veg, the clones had grown a foot tall or more:

They should look like this:

My target height is 4.5'. I knew I had trouble because the clones are twice as tall as normal. I still wanted to veg for 5 days to get them used to a normal cycle. I was told if I trimmed the bottom half it may reduce the stretch in flowering. It worked the other way around. The plants grew to 7' tall before I pulled them and started over.

I now only veg for ten days total from a rooted clone. Here is a picture of the first day of flowering:

And about half way through 12/12 when the stretching just about stops:

It was a good lesson that I don't want to repete.

My design is always changing. This is my reservoir set-up with only one sight indicator. I switched to a lid fill port because the side ports dripped alot when filling. I try and keep the humidity down and don't like the dripping during filling and re-circulating.

I tried coolers (ice probes) for the buckets, I found no big advantage in using them. The yeild is the same and they take 50w. They will be removed and re-sold on Ebay on my next cycle.

The cycle time has leveled out real nice. I am able to harvest every 70 days like clockwork. The only difference between two plants and three is the amount of scrap. The "A" quality bud amount is the same if not more.
