I have an Enaly OZX-A200 Ozone Air Purifier -- an ozone generator hanging in my garage:


Ebay for $119.

It was being used with a UVnair 3500 in the attic. The UVnair burnt out, so I thought I would try a Organic Air Charcoal Fiber Filter. I could not get any reviews on it so I will be the tester I guess.

Would you recommend the Ozone generator ? Did you feel it did the trick well enough for your operation?

That Filter looks like an intake for a honda lol. Let us know how it works out.

Not to be mean or anything, but i've heard that that filter is more of the "charcoal sheet" like on top of home HVAC filters, rather than the granualy stuff.

You just had the ozone generators in the room where you sent your exhaust correct? or did you run ducting to it.

Enaly OZX-A200 Ozone Air Purifier puts out a lot of Ozone. It can't be used in the grow room. You have to have a space to treat the smell (like an attic). I have a roof fan that comes on at 2AM, it clears out all stink and ozone but makes quite the racket. So Ozone is not for everyone. It works great for the room outside the grow room, but has limits on treating room ventilation. Man does it eliminate the stink from my rotten trash cans in my garage. It kinda makes the room smell like bleach.

HI. Great stuff on the grow, man. Your bubble bucket walkthrough became the basis for my own current grow setup, and I am using the Lucas formula with clean water addback just as you. I am on my third grow now with bagseed. I have just a couple of questions.

When you say that you use a 60 gallon pump per bucket, how does that compare to a pump that puts out 65 liters/min? I have just ordered a coralife super luft sl65 for my setup. My eventual plan is to have four buckets, with four airstones in each. I will have two of these pumps, each one running two of the airstones in every bucket. I feel that this is way overkill, but I have no real idea.

Also, what kind of airstones do you recommend? I really want a lot of bubbles. As I said I am kind of a newb, but I have noticed first hand the effects of more bubbles on root growth.

My first grow was with ebb/flow, and it worked well, but it did not seem nearly as fast as the bubble bucket method.

My current setup is vegging two plants in a small (19l) sterilite container, so far I have ended up with one male on both grows like this.

On my second grow (first DWC) when I was vegging in the veg box, I used two of the cheap ass aqua culture double outlet fish pumps from wal mart, with four of the 5" airstones they sell there. The pumps were new so they still worked well. The amount of bubbles in the container was awesome, and the roots grew at an unreal pace. After a few weeks the roots had actually grown to fill the container, and they would stay in a container shaped brick whenever I transferred them to a new bucket with clean solution.

On my third grow, I was still using those two pumps on the other bucket so I just used one pump on the new bucket, with two of the 5" airstones. The plants grew well, but the roots definitely did not grow like before. I am on into flowering with that plant and the roots still are not really impressive.

And lastly, the aqua culture pumps are quickly crapping out, I would highly recommend that anyone stay away from these pieces of garbage, as they are not old and are already pumping less and less air.

Sorry for the long post, just thought I might share my limited experience to try to give back to the City.

Hey Rump,

I know you grow in a 4'x'2' space. I am dealing with a similar, but smaller space ( 42'' wide x 16'' and plenty tall at 90''). I am inspired by your setup and would like to mimic/duplicate it for the most part. My question: I know you grow with 2 plants and 1 reservoir. What do you think about 1 plant and 1 reservoir for my space? Do you think the PH would swing too wildly?

I am going to have a 4' by 2' grow room very similar to yours. Yeild is my biggest concern. I figured more plants more harvest, but reading your posts have really been making me think of doing only one plant instead of two. I know you cant weigh out your yield, but what would you suggest one or two plants?

Also, I am really want to purchase a 6" can fan blower. I am going to be living with roommates (who are ok with the grow of course) will it be too loud coming from a closet? I saw you but a muffler, does it work well?

Try two and see if they are cramped. You will know for sure after your first harvest.

The exhaust muffler did at most 20% reduction in noise. I installed a carbon filter in it's place and that in it's self reduced the noise more then the muffler. I can't tell if it will make too much noise. If it does then go to plan "B" and relocate it or insolate it.

It's harvest day today. Going to cut it down later tonight:

Single plant grow. No CO2 on this harvest, The valve broke on me before flowering (just got the new one).

I have grown successfully with your method and buckets and love it... but recently i have decided to i want to switch to organics..... do you know if it is possible to use organic nuets with your design?

I am not an expert in organic hydro growing, but it seems to me organic nutrients can be used in any hydroponic system. Might be a bit tough in the aeroponic but I'm sure it can be done.

I have a question for ya. I tried to post this in my own thread in the grow room setup/design forum but it wouldn't post for some reason, i just kept getting the white screen and ever-lasting hour glass cursor.

I figure i would rather ask you first anyway. Let's put your electrician skills to the test whadaya say

If i were to purchase this ballast kit... High Pressure Sodium Ballast Kits

Would i just need to buy a fixture and a bulb?

Could i just mount all that stuff to a piece of plywood?

I have a little experience with the DIY lights, i made my own vented reflector hood with glass insert. It was only 70w though, came from a security light and works well, just looking for a little boost in lumens. I want to integrate the above 150w ballast into a cool tube set-up.

On the diagram at the bottom of the page there is a ground wire with a washer. What would i attach that too?

I hope this is within your realm of expertise, everything else related to a masterful grow appears to be! Thanks a bunch.

I finally figured this part out.


What do you think about the link i posted above. Will that ballast be all I will need besides the bulb, fixture and the stuff for the cool tube?


I was looking at your pictures again and noticed a little white box on the left side of your grow room near the front on the floor. What exactly is that used for?
