What do you mean by "prob by cheaper?". English is my second language and doesn't know this expression.

I believe you that you worked hard. I'm actually drilling 4 passive intake hole in the floor of my grow box. MY FIRST EVER! I bought a brand new cabinet to have a clean setup. The only exterior visible thing that we see its a fan grill. Instead of that nobody can see that I have 3 plants in it.

You can see my topic in absolute beginner section and the topic name is Good start? My final setup is in the second page.

Thanks Tremer, I'm pretty proud how it's turned out, allot of hard work went into all that. The hardest part was to get the equipment in.I severely under measured for the lights, filter & extractor.Lesson for all, measure and measure again

Hey I was wondering if the cool tube has an effect on the strength of light given to your plants. Does glass over lights effect lumen output to plants?

I have been following your cabinet build for some time now. I am extremely impressed with your entire setup so far.

I just have a few questions about your setup.

What kind of wood did you use to mount the computer fans to the cool tube?
How did you setup the power source for the cool tube fans?

What are the big white cylinders at both ends of the ducting on the cool tube?
Do you have either of the duct lines on the cool tube connected to the back of your cabinet?(Pulling fresh, cool air into the cool tube and pushing the hot air out of the back of the cabinet)?

I believe that is all for now. Any other info that you might think is helpful would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for stopping by lebowski009,
In answer to your questions I used MDF wood about 5mm thick, cut molds just short of 6” in diameter so they would fit nice and tightly in the ends of the cool tube. The power sours is the same as the intake fans. I used a 12v adapter. This is what the fans are mounted on within the cool tube

As for the white cylinders on the on the cool tube, that is just part of the kit.
I don’t have a set up where I’m brining in cool air from out side the closet. I basically suck the air from in the closet through the carbon filter, through the cool tube and out through a 6” diameter hole in the back of the closet.Have noticed that the tube still gets warm but not enough to burn your hand.I'm only using a 4" extractor fan I'm sure the glass would stay cooler if using something stronger.
Still waiting for the ice seeds that i ordered at the begining of the week, was hoping to have them by now.
Anyway hope this all helps.
A big cheer form me, i finally got laid last night after 9 months of drought, poor girl left exhausted

Hey cantgetenough, where you took the carbon filter? It make the extractor fan run quieter?

You use 4" extractor with 6 inchs ducting? Its about like me...I bought everything 4 inchs and the cooltube is 6 inchs. The extractor only was not enough to suck out the heat? I think that push the heat is better to suck it. At least its better fot your extractor because right now it will heat because the heat pass thru it. You say that is not warm enough to burn your hand...you mean when you touch the glass? Its pretty cool! You will be able to put the light at 6 inchs from plants you think? Just a though about your little fan on the cooltube...if your extractor is as powerfull as mine, I'm sure your little create restriction and slow down the airflow...! You cooltube is 6" but you limit it to 3.5 inchs with these fan. Have you tried without them? I will buy a rheostat for mine.

When you plan to start the ice seeds?

bye

The carbon filter is behind the the cool tube.

Like you i was running out of space so i had to put the cool tube closer to the front of the closet in order to fit every thing in.For me the sucking or blowing air through the filter had no change in noise level.Admittedly in my first grow the extractor fan was just hanging on chains so tendered to vibrate hence a little noisy, but with this new closet everything is so secured and tightly packed in that there is no vibration so no noise just the sound of rushing air.You idea about the fans in the cool tube is good .I admit that i didn't think of that.I've been testing for the a couple of hours and it seems OK.Nice one

As for the starting of the my grow, that will happen as soon as i get the seeds, hopefully some time next week fingers crossed

The filter is fine where it is, after much trial and error the position of where it is now is best. The only other option would be to have it out side the closet, and that would defeat the objective in keeping this a stealthy grow. I think the extractor should be ok but will keep an eye on it when i start my grow
I bought the filter at my local hydroponics store. In Heine sight i wish i made my own for half the price.

Obviously i have quite a few things to power up in the closet, do you think that just 1 multi socket( 6 outputs with surge protection) be capable of handling all that power
