Not bad, not bad at all. Im putting up about $600 for my next setup, just need to make it somewhat stealthy ya know, and a closet like that, maybe 2 of them, may do just perfect for what I want

I understand my future plan is to buy another one like this and attach both together with door hinges, allowing them to close in on each other, ending up with one contained grow chamber.
But lets see how this one goes first.

Thats basically what I was thinking, but more or less just a door on 2 opposite sides, so you can get to everything you need. Possibly a completely seperate box for a mother and just use the 2 closets for a bunch of clones

up date!

High all<O</O
Been very busy today.Heres an update as to what‘s been happening. Thursday I picket up my new cool tube. A bit bigger than I imagined! Its 22” long, 6” wide. Monster of a thing. Because of this I’ve had to re-think a few things. Because lack of grow space in the grow chamber with new light, I’ve had to cut out the middle section, bringing the veg and flower section in to one(will have to think about that one later)<O</O
<O</O

Today I went to the electrical store and bought:<O</O
2 x 3.5” computer fans<O</O
4 x 3” computer fans<O</O
2 x 12v adaptors<O</O
1 x junction<O</O
1 x wire connector (I think that’s what you call it)<O</O
1 x Electrical insulation tape<O</O
1 meter of 12v wire<O</O
Total cost £33
<O</O

<O</O

To connect the 4 x 3” fans, I used 1 x 12v adaptor connecting everything in the junction box.

I explained in not so many words, to the guy in the shop what I need, and he did the calculations on what adaptors would be safest enough to use, and instruction on how to connect everything together.

Very easy! I cut some vent holes and fixed fans in place. Works great.<O</O

Next I attached the 2 x 3.5” fans to the inside of the cool tube. Again I told the guy in the shop, that I needed powerful fans and again he advised on what I needed.<O</O
To make the fan brackets I simply cut 2 circles just short of 6” to fit nice and tight in the tube. Next I cut a 3 ¼” square for the fan.
fan mounts.JPG
Screwed in place, making sure that 1 fan blowing air in and the other sucking hot air out, connected all wires, bish bash bosh, job done.

<Olight on.JPG</O
I put the cool tube on with fans running and left for a couple hours. Fans are doing their job perfectly, very strong fans.<O</O

Hopefully should finish everything this weekend.<O</O
Let me know what you think!<O</O

Not to put a damper on your progress, but you may want to reconsider using that MDF. MDF is a pulp composite wood which is made solid with a bonding agent. The bonding agent (I forget which one it is) releases several chemical into the air which are harmful to plants. Perhaps you could coat the inside of the compartment with a marine-type undercoating in order to keep the harmful fumes at bay.

Happy Growing.

Really nice grow box!

My first advice would be your 4 fan that are on the back wall. They will allow light to enter during the time of your don't need it. ITs why passive intake in the floor is good. You will put a carbon filter on each of them?

Thanks for the info Pooflingaz69, there is very little MDF in there. The closet it's self is solid wood. The wood to cover the shutter role(up on the inside) if MDF along with the other piece that was used to separate the veg area from the flower area, but that has had to come out due to lack of space. It should be OK

Thanks PropheCy604, have that one coverd too.Planing on making a light filter box on the back of the closet.I did think to put the intakes in the floor, but went against the idea.
At the moment I'm just putting everything together and should be finish by the end of the day.

Behold The Closet<O</O
<O</O
At long last I’m finished or as close to been finished, about 99% done. I still have to make the light filter for the vent holes and also some kind of noise buffer for the out take vent.<O</O
I bought some new Mylar which creates a prism effect for the lighting, works really well<O</O
<O</O
mylar.JPG
Also bought some silver reflective tape to hide the wiring for the fans and stuff.<O</O
As you will see from the pic’s there is a CFL light. On the floor there is what was one of the shelves from the closet. This has been covered on the new Mylar. When I start off seedlings and though some of veg, the shelf will be put above the CFL light for max reflection. Because this will cut of the rest of the grow chamber off till the plants are good and ready to be exposed to the 400w hps, I plan to turn one of the pc fans back to front so to allow in and out so no need for the above air extractor. The CFL light will be replaced with a red spectrim bulb when the plants go into flower, so have max light from both directions.<O</O
When I bought the cool tube the guy in the store said I would need a 6” extractor to move the air through. I’ve managed to rig my 4” extractor and its working fine, but probably not as good as it should do. <O</O
Been testing the box for the past 4 hours and it’s remaining at 25C, so really pleased with this. Still some light leakages but will do those in time. Anyway enjoy the pic’s and let me know if there is anything that I should have added<O</O

Really nice!! I guess you will raise your plant near your HPS light?

Where did you bought that mylar? I spotted some BIG mylar emergency blanket on ebay and they are very cheap.
