My $6,000 Grow Setup...PLEASE HELP! (very detailed)
I've got about $6,000 to spend (which I posted previously) and I plan to build an entire grow from the ground up. I have been working on this meticulously day and night, but it is my first grown, so I'm still working out the kinks on the supply list. Here's what I'm thinking so far...please add your comments and opinions. I'm very open to new ideas, this is my first rough draft, so I'd really appreciate feedback.
(keep in mind...this is EVERYTHING I plan to buy except for seeds) Lighting

700+ for a 600w light?
149 for a 445cfm fan? dude, comon. if u wanna blow 6k, buy some good weed or sumthing. but the hardware u got for a newbie??? its insane. u need to shop around and get a few grows under ur belt first. my guess is that u could do the exact same grow for around 500$ and get better results. u have over 1500$ for grow media when i can get u bags of pro mix for like 20$ lol, hey whatever, do what u think is best. but let me relate the story. i used to teach guitar way back when. more often than not, kids moms would buy them electric guitars, amps, peddles, special picks, everything a pro needs. but the only problem is that they were NOT pro's. they were WAY over their heads with equiptment and never worked on the real fundimentals that they needed, meaning they couldnt play the shit. they spent all their time fucking around with the equiptment and no time with the basics of actually learning the neuances of the guitar. hence, they never learned the guitar but just made noise. i think u are going down the same pathway.

well...
If you are going to grow this in a garage then you need to do it right. First off:
Aeroponics- it's the best you can do and it will give you the best quality. You can spend like $400 on the kits, but if you DIY then you can make it the better suited for you for under $100 plus not that much to spend on media and pumps. CO2- you lay down that kind of cash then you better put in CO2. You can get a really nice injection system that is wired with both humidity and temp and you vent system, so it takes all the work out of it. Buy a 50gal tank and hook it up. the control system is under $200. Tables- if you are growing in a big place use tables to maximize space. Make them on wheels, and then you only have to have one actual walking row. Lights- you had the right idea, now let's improve. GO get the Hortilux 600w HPS, the best for everything (improved spectrum) Buy as many as you can. they are gold. The reflectors you should use the bat wing kind, the most efficient with no hotspots means closer to plants. You can pick up the bulbs as cheap as $90/pc and you should just make your own ballasts, you're going to be building the room for growing anyways. Light movers- relatively cheap, these make growing 10x better, you just put your lights on those and they move back and forth to simulate the sun, this means LIGHTS ARE CLOSER TO PLANTS. Exhaust- from what i see, you have exhaust pretty covered, just make sure you have circulation in the room, those plants need wind to make them stronger. i would probably direct fresh air to exactly where you need it with tubing. that should be it for now any more ?'s pm me. I wouldnt mind helping you work out a design, i have knack for this stuff....

^ I dont agree. Aeroponics isn't always the best. And in his case definately not the best. Aeroponics is extremely hard.. compared to the hydro buckets he's getting which are extreeeemly easy
I say go for it. You have a good list.

with any money you can spare, maybe should be spent on a little veg area. Having a veg area with your hydro will be nice.

Simpler is Better and so is Soil
I would suggest you go with soil first before you tackle something as complicated as hydroponics or Areoponics. Besides, I swear by organically soil grown buds because they are an overall better product by far. Also, soil is so much more forgiving to the novice grower than dro. No matter what route you go you'll eventually get the hang of it but if you want a quicker return on your $6,000.00 investment remember that simpler is better. The more complicated you make your project the longer it will take to learn and master it. To build on Froggy's analogy I'd say what you're attempting is a bit like trying to build a house from the top down instead of from the bottom up.
The advice I've read so far is pretty solid, and it's not always the easiest thing to hear but an ounce or prevention is really worth a pound of cure. Wait a minute! A pound of my cure sounds like $8,960.00 Have you read through this thread that's in this section:http://forum.grasscity.com/showthread.php?t=26558 Good luck bro. Stay green.

700 on lighting for only 2 600w units. You could find them for under 200 a piece and buy a 4 dollar timer. Personally I think some shopping around is in order. Get the price down then use the rest to buy a big ass bag to hold you over
.Edit: check out this thread. 1000w conversion for 275 i think. lol already forgot. http://forum.grasscity.com/showthrea...onversion+bulb
