Go For It!

If your gonna go hydro I suggest Omega garden $2495
http://www.omegagarden.com/volksgardenproductpage.html

So what if this guy is a newbie? He admits it! We were all newbies once, too.

What I hear him saying, basically, is he wants to grow on an ongoing basis and can afford to invest in doing it right. If that's the case, there is nothing wrong with doing it right from the get-go, in fact it makes a lot of sense. Maybe he'll screw up a crop or two, so what? He will still have the killer set-up to generate some great weed once he does get that experience under his belt.

We are always advising people on this forum to spend as much as they possibly can afford on lighting and they won't regret it, now here's a guy who understands that and it seems has the budget to extend this philosophy to his entire set-up -- I say go for it.

Well put! Good luck

if ur gonna spend 6k, why dont u just buy some LED systems. now that seems like a good investement for the 6k u were gonna spend vs the stuff u were gonna buy.

No offence, but you can grow a perfectly good plant using fluorecent lights, a fan and some mylar or white paint to reflect it, as logn as you take care of it.

$6,000 on a first grow is a little extreme, but it's up to you 100%.
Good luck mate....and let us know how thick of resin those buds will become!!

Cmon people 6k is NOT alot of money, even for a hobby grow. Sure, it could be done for much, much less, but he is doing it not to add/subtract dollars and cents but for pleasure and fun, not profit. Freakin computers cost $2000 or more, and most people dont even try to make a dime of that back.

Im also thinkin bout setting up an indoor grow, i have a couple outdoor plants that are about 4feet tall(if i didnt have them tied down) now but a total newb at indoor. I want a 'cadilac' system too, but i would really say to continue shopping around and reading up, ive seen better equipment than what you have there. Not always cheaper but sometimes better. The idea of using HPS and florous for supplemental light is my fav so far, and its probably the way ill end up going.

One thing thats very hard for someone who hasnt been in the presence of all this equipment to imagine is the noise. That exhaust fan is gonna be real loud, you need to calculate your actual airmoving needs and not get a fan much bigger, the huuuge cfm fans are really really loud. The sodium ballasts are also loud, and can interfere with electronics. You need to find one thats got superior shielding also, that much current can be dangerous, somehow, you gotta make sure you wires can handle the load. This is what the experienced growers are trying to tell you. Theres so much you can get wrong.

The best way that ive seen to truelly visualize what your proposed growroom will look like is to check some grow videos like Urbangrower.com. They have a ton of large grow ops there, and while your grow wont have as many lights the equipment youre looking at will probably produce alot of the bad side effects that you see there. UG is all about legal, medicinal growers, so he doesnt design for stealth, he designs BIG. Books are great for specifics and quick reference, but they dont give you a 'feel' for it. Atleast not for me.

I am newb too, but thankfully, i threw some bagseed into the ground and i have something to play with until i have enough knowledge to go indoor. It only takes ONE mistake to get into alot of trouble. Take it slow, and spend your money however you damn well please.

My two cents.

Oh yea, Who the hell would buy that OmegaGarden to grow weed in? Even if you were donald trump? Do you know how large weed grows, even if you constantly pruned the TREE, it would bush out over the side and tangle up the wheel. That thing is a glorified clone nursery.

if i had a spare six grand i would be doing the same thing brother, although i would shop around and i would be doing a couple of smaller grows first to get my shit together. you dont want to spend all that money and end up with a few ounces, you want pounds of the good shit for that kind of investment. obviously you arent growing for your own use, not solely anyway, so when you think of it as an investment it is one of the smartest things you can do, if you dont get caught that is.

Wait wait wait...I hope I read this wrong. $6k for 12 plants? Look I'm not one to be a jackass, or tell people what to do. But you're nuts. You're going to throw $6k into growing 12 plants indoors with all this wild equipment that will do what? Give you an extra ounce per plant? Yes, I am a newbie, yes I am a kid living at my parents (for another month at least), and yes I am jealous you have 6000 bucks to blow. BUT COME ON! It makes no sense. I may be wrong, but as far as I'm concerned you won't beat the great outdoors, not for a million bucks. Plants are designed down to the last cell to grow outdoors. For $6k, I'll hide 12 plants outside for you and grow them too. Shit I'll grow you a farm. Ok ok maybe you live in a city and you can't do that. But still, all those gadgets are a waste. You will get a marginally better product and a marginally better yield. And in my eyes, look dumb doing it. Sorry if I offend, but that just blows my mind. If I've gotten anything wrong correct me please, and I'll kick myself in my ass for you.

Yeah brother did that, and now I get to play the dopest guitar equip for free! Moral of the story is learn to be practical with you money when buying items. Don't get caught up in consumerism, wanting to have the best of the best.
