He has a 70w HPS I'm not sure it'll work. I think he might need a new ballast or

yes, on the balast it says '660V - 600W' so if im correct i could buy a 400W bulb and it should work, right?

I don't think it works like that. If it did then everybody would just buy a home depot

HPS and a 400w bulb for $50.

i know what your talking about the 660w thing you are talking about is just for the socket not the ballest. so you need a whole new set up. i made a really cool reflector/hood for my homedepot hps grow lamp the balest just sits on the floor with the old socket on a longr wire set. works like a charm.
