-Virgin 1st Grow- Start 2 Finish (Seed 2 Weed)

HELLO ALL, I am 24 years old and this is my very first grow ive ever done, fortunately my mother is also a stoner like myself (wish i had found out sooner) so i made a deal with her that if i could grow in my room and keep it hidden from my brothers and sisters i would give her a small portion of my product. I have almost everything set up, i have about 10 seeds germinating under my bed in a paper towel and have a small box only 26"high 36"long and 18"deep, i know its not much but its all i got. Because of this i have created this grow box Inside i have 2 -"15w 510 lumens Plant and Aquarium grow lights" as well as an " Aqualife 96 watt 50/50 which is either 18 or 24inches" Attachment 35394 here are a few more pictures Attachment 35395 Attachment 35396
My first question is i think im going 2 need some more light, (o yea as u can see i painted the walls white b4 was lined w/ tin foilt) im deciding between prob a 24" Plant and Aquarium grow light from home depot which is where the 15"ers are from or getting a low watt HPS prob 35Watt because ive heard they get hot, but how hot? both will average out 2 about same price, only concern is now the top light produces alot of heat and current temp is around 80 which is ideal but if i add 2 more fans what watt hps should i get 2 keep the temp low?

PS, just used reg pottin soil, and since there isn't much room in the box my plan is 2 plant in each of the pots, let grow for about 3 weeks then go 12/12 to determine sex then hopefully there will b atleast 4 females which i will keep in the big pots and transplant the others outside so there will b more room 2 grow, is this a good idea because i don't think i could get very nice plants with the small pots, and also i know transplanting isn't good for the plants. Also depending on light source im going 2 get ill move pots closer 2 light source I will continue 2 post my progress as everything moves along so keep watchin 4 more and i hope i can help other virgin growers like me. O yea 1 more thing along w/ a spray bottle, i got this while at home depot cuz i saw it was recommended Attachment 35397

First off I just want to make this clear! I hope you are considering the legal obligations of growing and that your growing in your parents house you could make them lose everything by growing Marijuana in THEIR house........

Ok now that thats out of the way ........ i don't know if the plant and aquarium lights work. For vegatative phase Daylight tubes work the best for flowering phase Warm White. The smallest HPS i know of is 75w and it will heat up that space pretty quick w/o ventalation. Your plants will also die if you don't have ventalation, they do need to breath. that space will grow one maybe two good sized plants. Shultz is a good fert just remember to introduce it after the small starter leaves turn yellow (about 3 weeks) then slowly add more every 2-3 waterings. just my 2 cents though

I understand, a kid down the road from me got a whole setup in his house for christmas and nothin ever came of it and many of my other friends have grown aswell and i am aware. The plant aquarium lights say "specially designed tp promote growth and flowering of plants and aquatic vegetation-----Contains a combination of phosphors which produce light rick in reds and blues, so i hopin they will work and they were only 6bucks each at HomeDepot. I looked on home depot's website cuz i forgot 2 look in the store when i was there and they have a 35watt HPS, so if i get this and install 2 more fans will this b enough 2 keep the temp down? also will this lighting b good for what im doing? Also what about smell? it shouldn't smell during the vegetation stage but once i start flowering i was told that cat liter obsorbs the smells and i was also going 2 either put bounty sheets over the out take fans?

O yea, About the space issue, i was thinkin about it and i thought that if i did LST on 2 and/or trimmed 1 or 2 i could save space and still grow about 4 plants, possible? 1 last thing, if i get a HPS light should i only use it when flowering cuz that seems 2 b what ive read but i wouldn't understand y i wouldn't use it during vegetation? any suggestions?

Hey. I used to be a supervisor at a pet store that sold those same lights and i wish to tell you that you may run into problems growing marijuana with them. The lumen output of those bulbs are low (dont remember the actual number) and the spectrum is very broad. The idea with aquarium bulbs is to show off colours of the plants and fish, not necessarily to accelarate plant growth. The bulbs heavily relay on water's ability to intensify the light passing through it. I also believe that those lights get rather warm.

You should look into replacing them with a normal GE Cool White bulb (looking for the highest lumen count and least amount of wattage --detection--). I use them in my grow and the provide enough lumens when combined with the tinfoil on the inside of the box causes a super bright growing space.

k thanx, i think im just going 2 stick w/ them can't do anything now cuz can't return them and they are better than nothing, also re-read first post they are each "510 lumens" so 1020 total. However i went 2 Homedepot 2day 2 try and find a High Pressure Sodium light and i couldn't find any directly labled "HPS" but this is what i found while i was there, which looks like what ive seen on the internet-Attachment 35417 this is 900 lumens 60watts-Will this b sufficent? also while leavin i picked this up cuz ive seen many pics with these lights and also figured i could return it Attachment 35418 this is 100 Watt (confused cuz it says 100watt light output 23w=100w?? idk) and 1600 lumens. Which one of these lights would b best 2 use cuz i was told 2 get a HPS lamp but can't find anywhere local 2 get 1 and can't order off the internet? thanx for ur help

first through away that edison bulb...
that cfl is 23watts those are good for growing, but you will need alot of them, i would put 8 or 10 in that box and that should be a good veg box, as for floweing i would check out lowes. they have a 150watt hps floodlight that is pretty good. ohh and next time you repot you should add some extra pearlite to your mix.

K well 2day i finished w/ everything im going 2 do w/ the box, im going 2 keep the flouros that i have until flowerin when somehow ill get an HPS light but thats far enough away not 2 fret about it. Yea thanks im going 2 do the best i can w/ the limited space, after the plants are around 6-7 inches tall im going 2 put them on 12/12 kick the males out and hopefully have around 4 females that ill grow inside and try 2 use LST or my friend suggested i try FIM, also might try pruning, using 1 of these will hopefully cause the plant 2 b more bushy and take advantage of the space, any suggestions?

In what tyranical state do you live, haha? Where I live if someone was growing weed in their parents house, and they could convince the cops/judge it was being done so without their knowledge, if they could provide evidence for that, the parents wouldn't lose anything.
