First Grow Ever !.(with pics)

well after watching videos, and reading alot and deciding to grow a plant, i got 3 seeds, 2 cracked, 1 sprouted. My luck . Anyway, my plant is in its first week under light and it is doing great. I will be keeping a journal of my baby, lets hope its a female .
Here are some pics.
I will post more pics once i get to know how to use my camera, but for now these will have to do.

You're going to need alot more space/light once the plant starts to really grow..

you need to move that light so its ALMOST touching the plant...just ot wear its not hot on your plant. 1-2 inches....thats why its streaching so bad.

ok, light was just adjusted and i am going to add a bigger box later when the plant grows. New pics coming tomorrow. , just need to get batteries for my cam, and gotta learn how to use it to get great quality closeups.

had alittle juice left in the batteries so i took some shots, kinda shitty shots, but something to keep you entertained until i figure out how to change the iso and stuff.

Growing one plant is a real roll of the dice. I started 10 plants and I barely have 5 left and they are not even sexed yet .

You wanna waste as little time possible before you find out if its female. Give it 2 weeks or so depending on your growth rate and throw it over to 12/12 to sex it. That way you can know for sure in about 3 weeks time wether or not to revegg your lady or start a new grow.

man im sorry but i dont know where to start. that is DEFINATLEY not enough light, as you can see from the plant stretchin its ass of lookin for the light, you have no ventilation, no where NEAR enough space. think about it. a marijuana plant only usually becomes sexually mature when its around 12 inches high. if you then decide to flower it (not recommended as this is the earliest possible opportunity and will annihilate yield) it will go into another stretch phase, which the plant does to get as many bud sites as possible, and it is entirely possible for a plant to double or even triple in size during the pre-flowering stretch. this is still going on the plant being FEMALE!!!! as graffix said. there is just a 50% chance of a female with each seed. and from what i gather, early stress can persuade the plant to become male, things like lack of light, lack of CO2, poor soil quality, nutrient deficiency etc etc. sorry man but for some who claims to have read alot and watched lots of videos and stuff, you sure are going about this half-assedly. indoor cultivation or marijuana can be very difficult/ expensive as you have to re-create (or get as close to re-creation as possible) a nice warm, sunny, breezy summers day. that box will be alot more like winter. a period that marijuana doesnt like. so in reflection, either pull that seedling now, and read ALOT more and then save your funds and try again, or speed read every grow guide on this forum, go pimp youself for quick money and buy a decent grow space. LOL. for the record i am by no means ragging on you im just tryin to point you firmly but fairly in the right direction. hope this helps.

Hey, Just looking at your journal and how its outfitted, you really need to look into the lighting system. You need the lights to be closer or the plant is going to become all stem and no substance lol. You got some mad stretch going on.

Also, for your use of one plant, thats like playing russian roulette man. You invest a shit load of time and money into ONE plant that will probably turn out to be male (karma blows). I would maybe go with another 3 lights in there and another pot. Put at least 3 germinated seeds into each pot and put each pot under two lights (if you like the compact floros look for higher lumen rated lights - i saw 1300 lumen compact floros in the DRUG STORE yesterday). You want at least 1800 lumens to grow dope, especially if its in the box.

Also, ventilation?? dude. If you dont got at least one fan and some vent gaps in that box, prepare for a fire. Remember in order to grow weed, you need to bake the fuckers under 24/0 lighting. Those lights are going to get HOT. So get a computer fan and a 9V power adapter and wire em together and install it your box.

it stretched so much because i didnt put the light close enough once it hatched. Now the light is really close to it, will add another, tnx for the neg comments, its just an experiment, not looking to grow a forest.it also grew tall because look at the first pics, i put it into a small thing and fogot to put the light close. First time mistake, 3rd times is the charm lol. Well i will take pics today, just got some batteries.

dude i wasnt trying to rag on you im just saying that even if it is an experiment, surely you want some bud off it? i tried a grow with a 3foot plant usin 4 2 foot fluros and only got like 4 grams, up to you man.

just got a thermometer and a fan . Without the fan it is 83 degrees F. I am going to add the fan in right now. Tomorrow the pics of the setup will be posted here .

83 is perfect man. for all the shit i said i can see this workin out well. all you need to do is maybe shove another box ontop of the one you got, make it light-tight and get as many of those fluro's in there as you can (those compact swirls are probs the best fluro's out there.) sorry for all the neg comments man i just want a fellow blade to get a nice harvest. keep going. ill be watching.

well as you might notice by now, i still did not get the right batteries for my cam,i keep getting alkaline but i need lithium, i will finally go and get em today and possibly make a video of my plant . I know i promised a few pics but i was able to take one before the battery died, still 83 Degrees F in the box. Added more aluminum foil so the light reflects of on the plant and added a fan and a thermometer(dont laugh at it lol )

As pics were promised , their they are, all my gear and my plant. So far , so good, as you can see on the thermometer the temp ranges from 76-86 sometime spikes to 90 but i fixed that problem, should stay between 76-86 now. Just got another light thing, going to buy the lightbulb tomorrow so their will be more light . hope you are entertained.

it has potential man.... but ya u DEFFINATLY need more light, a bigger space, and probably comp fan ventilation (due to more lighting) id reccomend getting atleast 3 more cfls, if i were u id get 1 more cfl to hang from top, and get 3 cfl tubes standing striaght up on the 3 of the 4 sides of the back going around it ( basicalty every1 but the door) and just get a huge cardboard box, u would be surprised at how good it is for growth to use tubes around the sides especially for the bottom branches

Edit: Also instead of using aluminum foil use poaster board, its much easier, comes in much bigger pieces and i think is more reflective, and doesnt cuase hotspots, unless thats mylar or something


Edit 2: Shit by the way where i say cfl tubes i mean just regular like shop light Flouro tubes....
