White Widow & Blue Mystic

First off, I want to tank the members of this forum for all the great info. I built a grow box with plans from HERE. This is a great design with the carbon scrubber at the top. Props to the designer!

I am a little late starting the journal, but better late than never!

Ok, I ordered seeds from www.drchronic.com . I went with Nirvana seeds, and got 10 Blue Mystic seeds and 10 white widows. I recieved my seeds in great shape, and started germination in plastic cups filled with a little water. I started with 5 b.m. and 5 ww. I have saved the rest for another grow.

Once the seeds cracked open, I placed them into some potting pellets to sprout some roots in soil. When the plants grew to about 2", I placed the strong plants into new pots. I ended up with 5 ww going strong, and only 2 bm that are looking good.

Here is a few pics
2 About to sprout
1 Transferd to biger pots
3 White Widow
4 Whits widow
5 Another shot from the top

Watering- I am watering my Plants with a home built hydroponics system. I have a 5 gallon holding tank that is runing a drip irrigation system. I am currently watering the plants twice a day on about 30 min each session during the daylight hours.

Light- 150 watt High Pressure Sodium with remote ballast mounted outside box.

Air flow- Passive intake at the botton of the box with an active exhaust at top(going through a carbon scrubber). I am going to redesign my exhaust fan by replacing it with a stronger fan(s) to pull air more efficently through the scrubber. There is a small computer fan going into the box to blow onto the plants.

I plan to update this Journal at least once a week!
Here are a few more pics

1 I moved the plants closer to the light and they took off!
2 White Widow
3 Strongest White Widow
4 Strongest Blue Mystic
5 Widow and Mystic

It does look like you've given this a fair amount of thought - best wishes for a monster grow!

It's been about a week since the last pictures were taken and the plants are doing sooo good! Every one is growing out very nicely. Super healthy and strong! I hope to have more pictures up later today!

I have set up the carbon scrubber(finally) and found that the fan I am using now is plenty strong to pull enough air through the filters. I have a steady 85 degree(f) temp inside the box when the door is closed!

Later

Update-
Today I transplanted 2 more plants into larger pots. I am now training 4 out of the 7 plants, and it is looking great. I can really tell that the undergrowth is growing a lot faster on the trained plants than on a plant I havn't trained.
I have taken the plants off of the water for 3 days. I wanted the pots to dry out a little bit to get some more strong root growth. Tommorow the water gets turned back on .

I have a few pictures of my setup. I will have updated pics up tommorow.

1 hanging to dry
2 filling the box up nicely
3 The drip feed setup
4 Bucket
5 My setup in the closet

My grow is doing awsome! Every plant has tons of new undergrowth since the last pics were taken. As I started my grow from seed, and I did not buy 100% feminized, I don't know what plants are male/female yet. I have 7 plants in a box with room for 3-4 full grown plants, so I can't use the other 3... any ideas?? Bubble hash?...

Ok, well I found a perfect tray for puting the pots into. last night I adjusted one of the drippers, and today the holding tray almost filled up with excess water. There is a semi flaw in my style of timer's. The timer turned on, but did not turn off till the next watering time(~4 hours). Good thing I caught it when I did..

Now I am going to raise the whole grow box so I can run a drain from the holding tray, back into the water bucket. This should solve my problem I think.

Training the plants is super easy. Once a day, I pull the large fan leaves out of the way, and allow max light exposure to the new bud sites. You can see growth daily!

** I read up on a LST method where you bend the plant all the way over till it points straight down. The purpose is to get as much light to the undergrowth as possible, and it looks like it is working. I just did this to one of my Blue Mystic plants YESTERDAY.

Here are some new pictures...

1 group shot
2 White widow - The only plant I have growing up
3 white widow undergrowth
4 white widow going strong
5 Blue Mystic that I rotated all the way over Yesterday

1 Blue Mystic Look how I have pulled back the fan leaves to control light distribution

2 White Widow This one has lots of new undergrowth

3 White Widow These are my runts that were the last ones to sprout. I plan to keep them
together and put them in a larger pot soon. I hope they are both females!

Oh ****. I broke one of the stems. The big blue Mystic that I was training too. I applied a little to much pressure and the stem snapped in 2! I'm not to worried since the plant is still doing very well. I now have 6 1/2 plants lol. 5 White widow and 1 1/2 Blue Mystic.

I trimed some of the fan leaves off and the plants are giving a great growth spurt. I will have pics up later tonight...

If you have been keeping track of this journal, you know that I almost flooded my closet when a timer did not turn off. Since then I have been designing a new setup.. My grow box is now 14" from the floor, and I have a new water tank that fits under the box. I ran a drain line from the tray inside the box, into the water tank under the box. No more flooding!

It has been 9 weeks since I germinated the seeds, and I am now switching into 12/12 light. I wish I could veg a little longer, but I will be moving shortly after christmas where I do not know if a grow will be possible... I plan to have bud to harvest around the second week of January.

So far, my plants have made a great spurt since I trimmed the fan leaves. Now I am starting to see nute burn(I think). I think it is nute burn since I see it on a few of the plants. I am also cuting the water off to see if I have been overwatering. Time will tell!

Pics
1 White Widow LST. I have been trying to keep an even canopy.
2 WW in pic one. Showing the method I used to grow.
3 White Widow. I am frustrated at this plant in particular because it is growing the slowest.
4 White Widow. This is the second best plant. Lots of strong growth..
5 Showing the problem with the plants...?? Any input?

Soil- "Expert Gardener" all purpose - From walmart
Water- hydro system watering once a day through drippers~ 1 hour
light- 150 HPS
Fert- Miracle Gro liquid all purpose- 12-4-8
