New Year's is going to be a blast. I'm hopping a flight to the ATL for Widespread Panic New Years shows. Stayin at the four seasons. It's my four mates and about fifteen girls. Ya'll should pop in and even out the ratio! Good company, good music and memories being refilled. What more could a guy ask for?!!

Electrical and Fire Safety Inspection Team to Target Grow-Ops in ********

The City of *********'s new Electrical & Fire Safety Inspection Team will soon be shutting down marijuana grow operations to improve neighborhood safety and help prevent fires caused by electrical hazards.

The Electrical & Fire Safety Inspection program, developed under the new BC Safety Standards Act Legislation, allows the City of *********** to receive information from BC Hydro on residential properties consuming excessive amounts of electricity. Based on this information, an inspection team performs electrical and fire safety inspections on properties under the authority of the Community Charter. Launching this week, ********** is the first city on ********** to implement this inspection program built on the success seen in other communities in the Lower Mainland.

"As part of the Crime Prevention Strategy promised for 2008, this sends a clear message that ********* will not tolerate grow-ops in our city," says Mayor *********. "The primary objectives of the inspection program are to protect life, preserve property and enhance community safety. While the program focuses on fire safety concerns, criminal prosecution may result as necessary."

The program focuses only on residential properties where high electrical consumption data has been received from BC Hydro. The average consumer will not appear in the data. Data received from BC Hydro will not be made public, as per Federal privacy laws.

The process begins when the team determines there are reasonable grounds to conduct an inspection and has received advice from the RCMP on the history of the property. On inspection day, a notice is delivered to the homeowner indicating access to the home is required within 48 hours. The inspection notice informs homeowners that they must call the Inspection office to schedule an inspection appointment within 48 hours of the Inspector's initial visit. Failure to comply may result in the team obtaining a warrant for entry. Once the team has gained access to the residence, the safety inspection will determine if the electrical systems are in compliance with BC Electrical Code and if other fire hazards are present. Corrective action must be taken based on the severity of the inspection findings.

If the results of the inspection determine that the structure or utilities on the property were altered for the purpose of establishing or operating a grow operation, then the ********** Grow Operation, Health, Nuisance and Safety Bylaw No. 3145 will be enabled by the Bylaw Enforcement/ Property Services Department. This bylaw requires that a "No Occupancy" notice be issued until the premises have been repaired.

To obtain a re-occupancy permit the registered owner of the property must complete all repairs to the satisfaction of the building, electrical and gas inspectors. The owner is also required to pay all applicable inspection fees including the staff costs of the inspection team.

So there grows the 1000 watter....growing with those enviro fluros to see if we can get the Hydro down.

Been putting O.F.F.F. transplanting till the back got better...so today is the day.

wow, my girlfriends apt complex are having those exact inspections right now, the 13th and today, the 14th. i know of one person growing in her complex and i know theres got to be at least 3 or 4 more.

Immediately if you like. It might just take 30 days to start flowering however and yields won't be overly impressive.

hey unoit and vtec! good to see all is growing well. Errr...at least kinda for unoit. Did I read correctly that even if they see you are using a lot of hydro elec. they still give notice for you to schedule an appt.? Granted a big op would take some time to take down, but with a days notice things could be taken care of in time to avoid any confusion with "official" inspectors. Around my neck of the woods it has been standard for elec. companies to watch for "spikes"(jumps in elec. usage) and high users of wattage. They don't give notice though. Instead, they just tell local law enforcement and from there anything is possible.

Well, it's planting season so I hope all of you prepared your sights last fall and are ready for planting. I envy you all.

I noticed I mentioned my new years plans and if I could remember any of it, then I'd share a story or two. It was fun, but the plane ride back sucked real bad.

last night i cleaned my water bong out with windex....down to the bowl.
i didnt rinse it out, just let it dry in the bowl.
i smoked the same bud(regs) that ive had all week through it...

and can i say....i thought i was trippin' balls...
i was having an out of body experience!!!!

Vtec- oh the plane ride was just hard on my melon. My hang over was so terrible that the plane ride almost made my head split in two.
