I started some seeds last night. I thought I'd use mainly HxMW seeds from buydutchseeds.com. My technique for germination I read on og a while ago and last time I used it gave me 100% success rate. needed:
1 gallon of distilled water
1 j-cloth or wash clothe that is sterile
1 teaspoon bleach
1 sandwich size ziploc baggie
Procedure: First, put the teaspoon of bleach in the water and shake to mix. Second, take the j-clothe that is sterile and thoroughly moisten it and fold in half. Place the seeds on the clothe that is fully wet, just not dripping, and fold over them. Now you should have a clothe folded into quarters and ready to be slipped in the baggie. Do so and when you go to seal the baggie blow into it such that it looks like a little atmosphere in there. Let sit in warm and dark place (no light) and check every 8-12 hours. A heating pad underneath the baggie doesn't hurt.

I know the bleach sounds like it wil kil but it is actually much like flouride in tap water.

my experience with buydutchseeds has been real good. I put 15 seeds to germ from them last grow and i ended up having to kill 3 of them 2 weeks after because I didn't have enough space for all 15. They are 100% with me and quick delivery like 7 days to the states. One weak strain (HxMW)that hermed and mutated on me, but the smoke from that strain ended up being my favorite. I get 20 free seeds on my next order too.

Okay I have been real busy. Tonight I put up some more mylar in the room, cut a bunch of coco-tek to line my net pots, took some pics, and finally now getting blazed.

For the coco fiber I cut two circles of it to put in the bottom of the net pot, then one long strip to wrap around the rockwool inside of the pot.

The seeds are relatively old, yet all of them germinated. Every one of my 30 seeds from buydutchseeds.com sprouted.

The girls are about an inch and a half tall and will be moved into the big room as soon as all the revisions have been made....or as soon as I get off my "arse" as some of you say.

is this gonna be a hydro grow? if it is i am playing close attertion just becuase i have always wanted to do a hydro grow. like i said if it is take pictures of your set up becusae i am muy interested.

Look at those little seedlings rolling around on their play mat! They certainly look happy. hehe. Good shot of the sprouts too. They look somewhat alien/creepy: all turning to look in the same direction. Bongs always make me babble or maybe paranoid. I forget.

Congrats on the germination, are you going to grow all 30 till sexing? Definitely take pics of all the gizmos and stuff as, like GUlfster, I have in interest in hydro and how it works. I find it a tad intimidating and it seems expensive at the initial outlay. well enough for now, x-files is on. Always a good stoner show

I'll use the following for this grow:
-Aerojet 3x3 (12 site)
-400W Metal Halide
-1000W High Pressure Sodium w/ Hortilux bulb
-Rockwool
-Coco-Tek
-Canna Aqua Series (pic)
-4" outake inline fan to the attic
-pH up and down (still have to order )
-Hanna Grocheck Meter (pic)
-calibration solutions for ppm and pH readings
-mylar 2mil. (had it before, but put more up)
-lots and lots of elbow grease
-mix of seeds from online
+I intend on using fim
+if I am not too lazy I may scrog after sexing them

This is a hydro grow only using aeroponics. Thanks for stoppin in to see the beginnings and feel free to ask any questions.

this pic is the room currently as I needed to move everything out to clean and put up more mylar. The resivoir holds 40 gallons and that is all in the room. The pic is of my meter for ppm/EC and pH.

Lucian- I included the ones that germed in my last grow, but only 12 going until sexing this time
tetra-sup dude...sorry for gloomin the other journal for a minute...I really didn't want that but so many people kept responding and well I'm stoned you know what I mean
Gulfster- I think I am at $2400 US for my costs and I don't have the proper setup for ventilation yet
nutrients alone cost me $200US

here is a pic of the setup after I got real anxious when I woke up this morning. The light is still real far away from them as a safety measure, the las's are a wee bit young for the big light aye.
