sup william, welcome to the city
when you say not much room, do you have any specs for us? as far as keeping the plants small, a lot of that is going to do with the genetics of the plant. if you end up with indicas or 50/50's (indica breed with sativa) you may not have issues with height. any mostly sativa strains will cause you serious problems in veg and more of a problem in flower. as far as reserving as much space as possible, you may want to look into lst, or low stress training. right now i really do not feel like explaining the process, but if you look in mostly everyones grow journal, and even my own, there is a lot of detail and pictures on how to lst. your one 60watt cfl will be good for maybe a week and will only benifit those plants closes to it, the seedlings furthest will stretch, and that is something you dont want. no matter what you try when you flower, expect the plant to double in size, its part of the cycle to support those big buds. 12/12 is the final lifecycle of mj. basically when you put the plant into flower, you need 12 hrs of uniterrupted light and 12 hours of complete and uniterrupted darkness. 8 weeks later all the work pays off in a well deserved harvest. ![]()

thanks for the advice. I got three pics to show the space I have for seedlings. I am still thinking of what I'm gonna do when they get to big for that box, no idea. I told the people I am living with I was going to try to grow random plants in my room, thats my alibi now for why there is a glowing box in my room. open for suggestions.

well, my suggestion would be to tell the people your living with what you are doing. im pretty sure eventually 2 and 2 will equal 4 to them. you not only will have height issues to control, you also will have a smell problem that will not let anyone for the slightest second think your growing perrinials in your room. i say, rework the whole project. youre going to have to either divulge what your doing to the other party or wait till you get on your own. youre creating a very volitile situation.

I've decided to go ahead with growing, but its hard to explain how my situation was solved. Just know that it has been solved. I am going to move everything in my closet, where I have more room in all directions. I added alumenum foil to the sides of the box, and added a 20w cool white tube floro, which may be useless, I dont know. I am worried/impatient that none of my 7 unknown seeds have shown any signs of sprouting, exept for getting darker and thicker. These seeds are from a couple months to 3 years old, does that make a difference? I'll put some pics up when I have my grow space in order and have sprouts. once again, any suggestions are welcome.

glad the problem's been solved, now that you have more room to work with, i would still try to keep them as short and bushy as possible. seeds can be viable for years, as long as your seeds didnt look dead or crumbled through the fingers, it can take up to week, week and a half till they sprout, patience my man.

Its been awhile, I've read more and expermented. Not one of those 7 seeds I germinated sprouted in 3 weeks, so I said fuck it and put them in pots about a week ago. still nothing. I also got 4 more seeds, all different. two of them have sprouted, one broke in half, the other didn't sprout. I put one in dirt, and the other in a rockwool cube in dirt. I will take pics and post again when I see some progress.

fucking sweet. those 2 seeds I had sprouted and are doing good. one is doing well, its about 3 1/2 in, and its developing new growth, I post a pic. the other is doing fine, but it worries me because its growing slower. i gave up on the rockwool cube, maybe I'll clone with it later on. I have a question though. I put in a nute stick (13-5-4) into the soil about 2 in, away from my bigger plant. is it to early or just a bad idea? pics to come later

so one of my plants died, but the other is doing great. here are pictures just like I said. what do you guys think? I heard its a crazy strain, very high up on the list. its fairly small and it definitely not flowering yet, but its giving a weed smell already. I assume thats a good sign
