First Lowryder Grow!!!!

Wats up GC this is my first grow ever but i've helped a few people with their own. Im working with a 7ft x 2ft closet. I initially started off with 40 lowryder seeds but due to some not sprouting i ended up with 34. Im working with two 52 watt cfls, and one 23watt cfl(when u see the pics i know im supposed to be using the cool ones right now). I'm waiting for my 400 Hps ballast to come in it should be here by the middle of next week sometime(I would like to know if this will be enough light to fill up that closet). I started on the sept.9, and the pictures im posting are from today. Right now my light schedule is 18/6. I'm all about input so please give me feedback. I know the lights I have right now are too high above the plants and I've already lowered them to about 2" above the tallest growth, I just havn't updated the pictures.

The best containers to grow LR's in are those tall 3 Liter bottles since LR shoots out a long tap root which you don't want winding around the bottom of a too short pot.
I suggest you look for those bottles during the next recycling collection in your area.

Thats crazy that you say that leapfrog because i actually just started collecting (buying and drinking wats in them) 3L bottles, because i only have 12 of the 5L pots, and i didn't want to buy anymore because pots are expensive as hell.

What are your onpinions on wether a 400hps will be enough light for the 7x2 closet?

A 400w HPS should be enough for a closet that size considering you're growing Lowryder, which grow short and bushy.

But are you using the HPS for the veg or just the flower? If just for flower then you might want to buy some more CFL's because the amount of light coming out of them for that many plants just won't be enough.

Either way, looks pretty cool. Havn't seen a Lowryder grow this big before like Sniper said. Good Luck!

I doubt a 400watt HPS would be enough for 34 good size LR but with males sorted you should be good. Good luck with grow can't wait to see how it turns out!

You might be able to squeeze a 600w in there without heat issues.
That'll get you a shitload of bud + It'll pay for itself after harvest.

how are you going to fit 30 lowriders in a 7'x2' closet is the question?
Do LR's flower on ther own after 30 dayz?

I'm about to do pretty much the same kinda project w/ almost the same kinda room 30'in by 7ft (but 24 plants instead of 35+). I'm really interested in how it go's. Tho i was just going too use one 1000w hps light threw the hole thing since to my understand the plants are pretty easy to grow. anyway good luck man, happy season!

they are not going to fit right and your light isnt enough. 34 LR on a 400 ? no way. seedlings and small plants yea but not mature plants. just not enough light to make good bud.

All you really need is a 6ft light track (light mover) to mount that 400W HPS on then get a 400W MH Conversion bulb to veg with and you will be doin good. It will improve yields and the MH conversion will keep them super short and prevent stretching. You can pick both the bulb and the track for reasonable prices on ebay or the track is available at Altgarden.com at a decent price.

Lowryder was the first strain I planned on growing when I moved. Anyone know what kind of smell it omits during growing? Really strong or will it be easy to keep on the dl?
