Here's day three...sprouts just three days after started germination. Started five, taking the two I feel best about and transferring to DWC, keep your fingers crossed for ladies. please check on me from time to time.

Check mine out. I actually went from soil to dwc halfway through the grow, the results of DWC are amazing. GL.

good to see yet another DWC grow.

whats your setup? (lights, nutes, type of dwc, strain of mj, etc...)

i'll be checking up on this one, keep it up. (my fingers are permanently crossed for everyone to get girls)

BTW, i like the budget net pots

the setup: currently under 20 watt 6500k spectrum CFL. After the transplant I'm changing to a monsterous 13" 105w 6500k. As for res. 10 gal sterilite, walmart two outlet air pump, and yes "Custom" net baskets (making ends meet baby). Nutes are "Floragrow by General Hydroponics" and a large oscilating fan. Today's pics coming this evening.

looks good.
now dont get me wrong, because it looks like you already know what you're doing pretty well, but one thing that might help out your plants a bit is that you can probably get that light closer (CFLs are ok about an inch away from the plants) and if you have that big light now, i'd put it on them. the more light the better. and they'd love it.

other than that, looks good and i cant wait to see those plants take off. i've heard good things about the general hydroponics line.

why do u use only GROW?

the GH nutes are cool tho
i use em too
take a look at the lucas formula

hey thanks for the tip i measured the dist its at 3.5 now. I know they're supposed to be closer but it scares me because at where it is now its drying the topsoil (which is only slightly damp) very quickly, and Im afraid of cooking the little girls, is that a problem or is it okay for the top to go dry, your advice is what i'm going to go with so let me know.

babylon, the floranova grow came in a set, my bad on leaving that out i have bloom too for flowering, i'm pretty sure i am gonna need more light (2600k range anyway) when I flower them but im just going to hit up lowes and get what i need when the time comes. Also i'm only growing 2 plants so that monster CFL ought to be enough for veg.

why did u choose this one instead of regular 3 parts nutes?
MICRO + GROW + BLOOM
we all use this type of nutes

honestly, when i was shopping the internet for nutes i read up on the three part system... and it confussed the hell out of me plus it looked like more measurement and attention than i wanted to put forth. i wanted something that i could put in for veg then when i flushed the res and went to flower put in a different thing. no "2 parts grow 1 part micro" just strait forward. i realize it probably wont work as good but it should still do fine and its a sacrifice im willing to make for less stress.

dont worry about your topsoil drying out. if i remember right, those jiffy pots hold a lot of moisture. if you're worried, give the top a very light spray of water whenever you see them dry, but chances are that a 1/4" below that is very moist, and that is where your roots are. or wrap the jiffy pots in a bit of saran wrap to keep the roots warm, and to keep moisture in (but be very careful as sprout stems break very easily.)

dont know about your nutes, but just start with low concentrations of whatever you do at about the 3rd leafset. slowly increase nutes to reccomended level and watch for nute burn.

hey +rep nugs I appreciate the knowledge. i'm just gonna leave them alone and let them do their thing everyone else just leaves a CFL on them with no worries so i guess i dont have anything to worry about either.

I would say at worst your light will fall and burn your plants, nothing else.

As a precaution though, since you are growing with water, I have all of my lighting through an extension chord which has a fuse in it that will trip(or blow im guessing) if moisture is detected, or a circuit is shorted or interrupted.

Fire safety.
