Another update incomming. Alot of growth and tying has happened in the last 4 days. I think that 20/4 was my best decision yet.

DSC00294.jpg
All of the new growth underneath. It's looking as good as I think it can.

DSC00297.jpg
Same side of the plant, differant angle.

DSC00299.jpg
My best looking leaf on top. I'll be trimming that one and the two large ones from the node before in the next few days and will include a print picture for referance to strain.

DSC00300.jpg
First set of 7 point leaves. These are going to look beautiful!

That's all I got for now. I'll be starting the Purps DWC grow log in a few days so I'll update again when that gets under way.

bouncing out until then.

Great looking plants you have there. As I read through the journal and saw that little fried seedling I was saddened but the pics at the end made up for it! I've been very interested in foggers, I'll have to watch and see yours in action. Great job, keep it up. +rep

Thanks for the replies guys. I've trimmed my plant alot as of recent, alot of new growth and one mistake on my part, nothing too major. I chopped a bud site off by accident.

Stay tuned for an update soon though!

we all screw up sumtimes lol. One time I was supercropping my white widow buds one month into budding to give light to lower budsites and I bent it too far and ended up having to remove the top which would have grown to be 6 or 7 grams. I'll keep my eye out for the update

Ready for some amazing plant growth? along with the pictures i'm also going to break down my method of growing this plant for anyone that might be curious. i'm very proud of it so far.

DSC00305.jpg
Taken July 6. Trimmed up the large fans previously pictured.

DSC00306.jpg
Same day .. very compact. 'Petite' sounds accurate.

DSC00313.jpg
Taken same day as this update. BOOM!

DSC00317.jpg
From above you can see how much the side branches have stretched.

DSC00320.jpg
Remember that 7 point leaf? Here it is now. It's pointed the direction my main stem is headed now.

DSC00321.jpg
So after 7 comes 8 .. no 9! Looking as good as the 7 point did. :P

DSC00318.jpg
Hey look a preflower! Does this mean I'll know sex before I put it to 12/12? My worst fear is that I've herm'd it somehow. Which actualy wouldn't be a total loss. I could get seeds right? Would those all turn out herm as well?

DSC00323.jpg
Anyways. Putting her back up. 3 days and 1 hour since that first picture was taken. (camera saves time/date in file)

DSC00311.jpg
So short!

The soil has been Miracle Grow Organic from day 1. I did not add perlite or vermiculite.

Around day 20 I started using 1/2 str liquid Miracle Grow plant food. 12-4-8 if I remember right. 1/2 caused a tiny bit of yellowing on some tips but it never got worse. I diluted my mix with 1 tall glass of water and it fixed it.

I feed my baby 550ML every 2.5 or 3 days. Sometimes at night I don't feel like the soil is dry enough so I water the next morning. A great tip for any novice grower is to let the soil dry out a bit before you water. It lets the roots grow long as they try to soak up all the water they can.

I have followed the sticky guide on LST pretty much to the T as far as the shape my plant has taken. As for trimming the growth I usually cut off any large fan leaves that have already produced a stem from their nodes.

To shape the main stem I've used nylon string through holes I drilled just above the soil in the side of my pot. I wrap the stem like a horseshoe and tape the string to the pot on the side. To shape the branches I have used soft rubber covered wire. I cut them to length and bend in half, sticking the U shape down into the soil to hold the stem down low. The pacakge on the stuff says it's used for tomato plant training so of course it works perfect.

Um. The lighting has been 24/0. I did note that 20/4 made it happy but I still can't shut the door on it yet so unless I'm always here I cann't do the 4 hours dark. Bulbs are 134 watts of 6500k CFL.

That's about all I can think of. Thanks for stopping in and happy harvesting!

I wouldn't cut fan leaves unless absolutely necessary. Each one of those is producing energy for the plant. The more fan leaves you can leave on the plant, the more photosynthesis the plant can perform.

Your plant is an awesome example of what LST can do when done properly. Great job. Are you going to let it grow out of the pot before budding or do you want it small and short?

Thanks alot for the comments guys. Means alot as a first timer. :P

I really don't have room to let her grow out of the pot. I'm limited to 11.5" of depth in my cab so the pot just makes the cut. From what I've seen - trimming the fan leaves once there are branches at the nodes keeps the growth uniform over the plant as well as opening up the canopy for the under-growth to flourish and get some direct light (important for CFL growing). I also think it has slowed down my main stems reach. Shes putting alot of energy into the side branches so far - some are spitting out 7 point leaves already.

This plant is so much fun! Everyone needs to try their hand at LST at some point. It's awesome to look at it and see the new nodes forming all over the plant at the same time. :P

often times when my fan leaves are blocking light I tuck them away s they arent blocking the light. If the leaf cannot be tucked, then you can snip but the more leaves the more energy the plant has to grow.

i try to weave the leaves where possible. tucking some fans under other branches and whatnot. it's very hard to keep the canopy open.

even from those last pictures .. you can see what 3 days of growth can do to my attempt to keep things orderly. haha

That is exactly what I do, tuck them under the shoots that are going to produce buds, I never trim unless absolutely necessary.
Hey Bouncy, good to see that your LST is working out. I guess you have proven me wrong; wouldn't be the 1st time...Peace

haha, thanks ganja. i just did another large trimming yesterday. it's been 22 hours so far. everything that was underneath has now filled the space of the trimmed leaves. i have roughly 16 tops going right now and there are many more right behind them. i guess i should also throw in that it is all within the pot still, even better than previously shown. why is growing so much fun? :P

she (i'm praying now) is old enough to pull a few clones from .. i wonder if it would be worth it. i'd throw them straight into 12/12 after i saw some strong roots come through. maybe a few days of veg if i see new growth kick in quick.

any reason i shouldn't do this? get to sex and possibly start making some buds!
