So I have decided to convert half the closet in my bedroom into a second grow area. the area will be 31" w x 2' deep x 5.5' tall. I will be using visqueen to seal off the area. I'm debating on whether to go hydro on this one or do another soil grow. I really want to try hydro out and build a bubblebucket or something similar but I think I might go soil just so I can get this soil thing down. Also I'm not sure how loud a bubblebucket will be since this will be inside my bedroom. I'll probably just have one plant in there so I'm thinking a heavy yielding indica dominant strain and a hardcore topping/LST regimen. I will have to swing by the club and see what kinds of clones are in. Headed to the hydro shop tomorrow to pick up a new light. I'm thinking a 250watt HPS should be good for one large plant in that space and hopefully will be cooler than a 400 since I haven't decided how I am going to ventilate yet. I'll post some pics tomorrow of the new setup once I've got it all put together.

DAY 32 of Flower

Here are a couple pics of the current grow. The buds on the burmese are looking pretty weak. I know its a sativa dominant strain and the flowering time is much longer but you can see in the pics there isn't alot of bud. It will be interesting to see how they turn out. The second two pics of one of the lavender girls. I did some research and it seems like its 50/50 on whether or not these will trun purple. Just depends on the particular pheno of the clones I picked up so I guess we will just have to wait and see....No big deal really just think it would be cool to have a couple purple plants in the mix. I will try to get some pics of the strawwberry twins and the Kushage up later.

Ahhhh HELP!.....I was just snapping some photos of the Strawberry Cough and I noticed what appears to be a seed in one the flowers. You can see what I am talking about in the first pic.

So does this look like a hermie, and if so what exactly does this mean?

I am assuming it's still smokable, any effect on potency?

Do I now run the risk of the hermie pollinating the rest of my girls?

Since these are clones I am assuming that this may have been a result of stress?

Thanks in advance any help is greatly appreciated!!!

No worries man, thats what this site is all about, helping and learning from each other. I'm not sure about lowes or HD having visqueen. I need to pick some up myself and am headed to HD tomorrow to get some 2x4's for the new project so I'll see. I imagine it would probably be cheaper there than at plantit earth but we'll see.

Thanks Rock for swingin by and showin some love.

I swung by the grow shop today and picked up almost everything I will need to build my second grow spot. I grabbed a 250w HPS, 7gallon bucket, zipper and 10'x6' sheet of visqueen to build the walls. I've got it framed up with some 2x4s. Still figuring out the ventilation part. I'm thinking of just doing an exhaust and a fan inside for circulation. It's a small space and I'm only doing one plant in there although I will trying to get as much yield as possible from one girl. The whole point to adding another grow is so I can have offset harvests. I am still debating on LST or just some major topping. I will also be adding some perlite to the Fox Farms Ocean Harvest this time to help with the drainage, maybe 10-20%.

Here's a quick before pic with the 2x4 frame in there. Check out the size of that bucket, the thing is massive! I was planning on finishing everything today but I got a late start and took a trip to the gun range so I will post some more pics once it's done.

oops almost forgot....

Richi I did swing by Home Depot today to grab 2x4's and the guy I talked to said they didn't carry the visqueen so you might have to order it. It's good stuff tho and bright white on the inside so it's super reflective. I'll snap a photo of how the zipper works when I finish building this one. Good luck man

DAY 39 Flower

Sorry folks I had a quick battle with food poisoning so I haven't been able to snap any pics or finish construction on the new grow room in awhile.

The girls are all alive and well, and I plan to finish up construction this evening. The strawberry's are looking real crystally and I expect to be harvesting them in a couple weeks. I hear that you shouldn't feed them for 2 weeks prior to harvest so today might be their last meal of the Tiger Bloom. The Lavenders should be ready to go about the same time and are hairy little bastards. The Kush is starting to fill out a bit and will definitely need another month or so. Burmese is looking weird and skimpy so I am hoping they make some big changes here in the coming weeks.

Overall I am anticipating a nice yield and will probably meet my goal of a half P depending on how the Kush and Burmese finish up.

Here's a couple pics for all to enjoy!

#1 First up we have some frosty berry goodness
#2 Some lavender love

and

#3 a family portrait of the whole gang

Happy 4th o'July everybody and welcome back to:

Erock's 2nd Grow/LST experiment/strawberry cough.SOMA lavender.Burmese.Kushage NOW WITH SCROG!

So I finished up converting half of my closet into a second grow area and have added a couple new members to the family. I got 2 clones of a strain called Superglue, I don't know much about the strain other than it is 80/20 Indica and supposed to be a heavy yielder. They were the last 2 clones of the strain at the club. They lookd a little beat up but the roots looked good so I decided to adopt them, and bring them home.

The new grow area is 30"wx23"dx55"h. They will each be enjoying their very own 3.3 gallon bucket filled with FF Ocean Forest and 10% perlite to help with drainage. I decided to go with a 250w of HPS vs. 400 for a couple reasons: to keep the heat in such a small area managable and since I will be using the SCROG method I will have a nice even canopy so the light won't have to penetrate very far plus I can get the light closer to plants than I would be able to with a 400w. I will be building the screen out of pvc pipe and plan on putting it in once the plants are 12-18" tall.

Day 45 of flower

The rest of the crew is doing well. The Kush is really starting to fill in and pile on the trichs. The strawberry is covered in trichs and smelling phenomenal. I flushed the starwberrys and the lavenders today as I expect them to be ready in about 2 weeks. The lavender are covered in hairs but a little short on trichs IMO. The burmese just looks skimpy and horrible but I am still holding out hope for her. It's almost like she went back into veg and her buds are stretching or something, it's pretty weird looking.

That's about it for today here are some pics that I hjope you all enjoy. Everybody feel free to chime in with questions, comments, advice, bad jokes, whatever.....

thanks Cali for swinging through, it's been a pretty decent grow and looking forward to chopping some of these girls down pretty soon.

So I have noticed some seeds sprinkled throughout the crop. But can't seem to find any hermies lurking so I'm kinda scratching my head on that one...

Pretty pumped about the superglue and giving SCROG a try here's a couple pics of the baby's, growth seems kinda slow and I am still working out the ventilation issues so its been a bit hot in there right about 84F during the day I'd like to get that down a few degrees. I did see one little bug on #2 so I gave them both a good scrub down so hopefully that will take care of it, I might pickup some sort of mite dip or something at the dro shop when I pickup some some new fans in a couple days. # 1 is looking good and #2 is leaning pretty bad but I'm hoping they will start taking off here shortly....

Not sure what day to call it for the new clones but I've had them for 3 days so...let's go with DAY 3

Anyways check them out, everyone likes baby pics right?

Thanks AdUB aka "twitcher" LOL for rolling through and I bet you are right there has to be some pollen in there somewhere. Not a big deal tho just gonna have to check thoe nugs before they get packed! I might even have to plant a couple, if I can find the culprit plant then I will know what kind of crazy new strain I've created, Hmmm....... maybe lavender cough or strawberry kush=) Now you got me thinking about it I am gonna have to do some serious inspecting once those lights come back on!

and thanks for the props Joker it's always nice to hear that other people are enjoying these pics as much as I do. These plants are just amazing plants to grow, smell and so nice looking. I wonder if these plants weren't so taboo in our society if we might see these all over the place as pure decoration....

Quick pic of the baby's on day 6. As you can see Plant #1(on the left) is looking amazing, even split into 2 main tips it looks like I topped her. #2 on the right is struggling big time. She has a dark purple stem and Im not sure what the deal is but it looks like I will be replacing her. Hopefully I can find another superglue clone. If not I guess it's no big deal, since the screen will be regulating plant height for me.

I'll be posting new pics of the rest of the crew in the next few days, they are looking bomb and I think the strawberry and the lavender have about 10 days left before harvest. Just a tiny bit of amber can be spotted on a couple of trichs.

Since I flushed them last friday and plan to be harvesting in 10 days or so will I need to flush again, or is just once 2 weeks prior to harvest the way to go?

Thanks all for stopping by.....
