It is just 1 clone as a test. Yesterday was day 6. I pulled it out and looked. It appears there are 2 timy roots that can barely be seen. It seems once they start growing they grow fast. I hope in the next couple of days I will know something better.

If the gravel with that clone doesnt work out perlite does really well too, just dip the cutting in some rooting powder and put water in the cup of perlite and stick the cutting in, 5 days later roots and you dont have to use a humidty dome with it. or heating pad just a small 26 watt bulb i find works the best.

The first Widow harvested was very small. It was in the shadow of a Purple Cindy and didn't get the right amount of light. This was the first one that was put into 12/12 light to find the sex. The next Widow in line is small too but the ones following that are about normal. I guess there is maybe about 10 of them total with more being added each week. I smoked some of this White Widow the other night. I had toked a couple of hits in my bong before then but the real test came from smoking a joint. Usually I smoke the joint by myself to test it but this time was with a friend. We were both snit faced when we went to eat some bbq. These are not the HGS Widows but are still good. I have a skunk clone that I made to use for a new mom. Hopefully the clone in the gravel will root soon so it will be a 3rd mom and the original mom will be put out to flower. Her better days are still ahead of her but it will not be by producing offspring. Her best and final days will be when she is sucked down my bong with a flame on her ass 1 hit at a time. Purple Cindy is looming and getting close. Like with the others, the first couple of plants show signs of trying to get everything dialed in. The ones coming behind the first 2 groups all look better, very few burns from the CFLs, they are about an 4 inches taller so far and it is all top cola. From here look like they will be much nicer plants. I'm not complaining about these first 2 but the next ones sure look nice. This Cindy smell started getting strornger today. I was waiting until the end of this month when the light company reads my meter before turning on my ac. It has been off for a couple of months trying to keep my yearly total down and today I saw the meter reader. Just in time too. They are calling for highs in the mid 90s from tomorrow through next week plus it might be time to start being sure this "aroma" is being contained. One last note, the Cluster Bomb baby is looking great. It stretched real bad on me before I got it planted but that is okay too. The way I LST them around the edge of a bucket will take care of that. It seems my Purple Cindys stretched like that too. I will have more pics tonight or tomorrow.

Not a whole lot but will help me get to the Purple Cindy. 36 grams of clean green bud. ![]() Well, pretty clean. On the left, the redder of the 2 is Skunk #1 The greener stuff on the right that appears to have more leaf on it is White Widow. I will see if I can't get more of that leaf off of that bud tomorrow without tearing the bud up. That might be why I left it. That stuff is extremely sticky. It will dry out to a little under a half oz. of pure enjoyment AND entertainment.

Damn man this is a real clean setup, and looks like your getting some real good harvests, that purple cindy looks great. I agree with the small plants, easier to control. nice work!

Don't I wish. ![]() The funeral march was Friday. I marched her to the whirl pool and sent her out to sea in style. It was all my fault. I killed her. Murdered would be a better term. I'm so used to that damn humidity dome and it keeping everything humid (too humid) I forgot to water her. In fact when I was looking at her one day last week I noticed water in the bottom of the dish and thought hell, there is water standing in the bottom of the gravel and poured it out. That dome might be needed during the winter but not in the summer. I wasn't even using any heat. Soooo... I cut another clone, prepared the end as usual, dipped it in rooting powder then put it into the gravel. This time no humidity dome at all, even though the heat mat is off, no dome. I have a mist bottle sitting beside it that is used a couple of times a day and so far so good. Two days and she looks like I just put her in there. I bet she will do fine. Her dead sister did have some tiny little roots, dry as they were. Life is good After 7 weeks of not running my AC and temps having been getting into the 90s a few times, today I cranked it up. Ahhhh. As hot as it was, you can get used to no air conditioning, especially if you have a good fan. My fan was on an extension cord and I pulled it around wherever I went. I really didn't think I could make it to the end of May but I did. This sure feels good though. To top all of this cool air off, I have the big 3. A little skunk #1, a little white widow and a couple of low buds snipped from my one of the almost ready Purple Cindys, all dry and smokable. It all makes for a nice Sunday afternoon. The Purple Cindy that is almost done has about 50% amber trichs now. Today she got a drink of straight distilled water to weaken her nutrients. Probably Wednesday will start flushing her using GH Flora Kleen for 2 or 3 days then straight distilled water for a couple of more days. I had the date to harvest her of June 9. That might be moved up a couple of days.

Gravell will work for clones but isn't the best thing to use. This clone still looks fine but not without some problems. When I turned on the ac yesterday she kinda wilted. Placing that damn dome over it corrected the problem. Gravel doesn't hold any water and unless it is real fine you won't get a capilary action to draw water up to the plant.
valleyhemps, what size dish and how much water do you put in it. I used to bonsai plants, not marijuana but tress and stuff like on karate kid. You really have to mess with the roots on those and I have some stuff left over. What I was wanting is small clay pellets that will hold like 5 times their weight in water and are ph neutral. This stuff always worked great for roots in the bonsai and should be what I need. I'm trying it anyway. This stuff is cheap too. It is the cheapest cat litter they sell at Kroger. It says all natural on the package and is clay. The more expensive ones use something else and add perfumes and deodorizers to it. The cheap stuff is only clay. I put a Purple Cindy cutting and a White Widow cutting in it. We will see what will happen. I'm fixing to be needing more cuttings so I'm trying to build up moms to make clones from. Today I added the framework for a shelf in my closet about 36" above the floor. I want to put all of my flowering clones on top of that shelf and keep the moms and starting clones below. Each chamber will be light tight and self contained. There is even a quad electrical recepticle above the shelf and another one below the shelf. I'm fixing to try an eb and flow system instead of this drip system I'm currently using. This could increase my yield from 32 plants to 48, maybe more, with less problems and a central reservoir. It should be cheap to build myself. Thats why I need more moms. I might be needing to be able to plant 6 or 8 at a time (each week). By doing this the entire setup will be a lot cleaner and much more efficient. There are 20 ea. 26 watt CFLs that I use for flowering. These do put off some heat and when the moms go in there too, it will really get hot. I'm going to have to add some exhaust ventilation, something I haven't wanted to do. The amount of light I have in there for flowering is about 500 watts (2000 watt equivalent). I'm not so sure that a 400 watt hps light would be any hotter than what I am doing now and would probably give me a better yield. Wouldn't 400 watts be enough for a 2' x 6' room? If I have room downstairs with the moms I might just build a couple of bonsai trees again. Might be interesting to see how they would do in hydro. Might be perfect for them. With bonsai what you do is every so often you dig them up, remove all of the dirt from the roots, trim about 1/3 of the roots off then replant it in one of those shallow bonsai dishes. With hydro they could be replanted for awhile then moved back to the hydro system. Would be easy. Idunno why the hell I would do that though. LOL. It isn't like I have a lot of company or parties or anything. If anything, I need to plant those seeds I have for red poppy plants. Don't have a clue how to grow them though. Please excuse my ramblin' im snizzlebit. LOL

My Purple Cindy has 6 days to go. Likeing what smoove said, I gave her half nutes for a couple of days and now have been flushing her with GH Flora Kleen for a day. A couple of more days of this then distilled water until the end.
![]() Here is a closer look. ![]() All of the trichs are amber now. Much of the fingerleaf on the bud is either turning yellow or starting to. I hope she makes it until next Monday. She might not. I have 2 more about a week behind this one. I started flushing them yesterday also. Might be a bit early but the trichs are just startingg to turn amber and I might want to catch this one a little sooner. The growing seems to have stopped. I can always add nutes again later this week or maybe give her another round of weak nutes.

Well, I'm bored and buzzed so here are some pics.
My 2 clones in the cat litter. It seems like maybe they grew bigger. ![]() I can't believe I had forgotten about this suff. Not only does it keep the dirt loose but if you have trouble keeping a plant watered in soil, add some of this to it and it holds water until it is needed plus by keeping the soil loose, it aerates better. Using it by itself seems to be working great so far at the end of the 2nd day. I was saying the same thing about the clone in gravel and it is kinda starting to take on the boiled spinach look. Still alive but we will see. Looks like tomorrow will be a good time for cleaning up. There is still a mess from the building I did yesterday. This is the generic cat litter. It was sitting out in a storage closet outside for the last few years so the bag looks kinda bad but everything inside was fine. ![]() I think that bag cost me like .99 or $1.99 or something. It was cheap. This stuff also works good for soaking up a fresh oil spot on your driveway. LOL This is what I have done to my closet so far. ![]() Maybe Friday when I take them all out for a nute change and a checkup I will have the plywood to put in for the shelf. It will be nice to have everything in that single closet. I will figure out how I'm going to paint it later. Right now I have a mess. This is my desktop from a few weeks ago. I had just gotten this new fisheye lens and was playing with it and got this. ![]() Alright, I worked off some boredom now.

Today I purchased a small submersible pump and started playing with a home made ebb and flow system. I have a couple of half dead clones I had discarded at one point but put them in there to see what happens. The main goal is to understand ebb and flow aren't there 2 b's in ebb?
This type of system seems so much simpler than this drip system I'm using. Using a drip system you have to constantly be adjusting the air pressure and if you are running several plants off of a single pump then the water level in the different reservoirs can throw it off. A total and complete hassle. With this it will be 1 central (maybe 2) reservoirs, because the containers have no nutrients in them most of the time they will probably stay cleaner, more containers can be added without the hassle plus it just runs a few minutes just a few times each day. This would have to be a much better way to go. The new mom clones that are rooting now will be going into this new type system. It is a Purple Cindy and a White Widow clone and they are looking great. It looks like both the Purple Cindy and the White Widow original moms each have about 5 branches ready to be cut for clones. These can be the first ones I put into flower using this ebb and flow. Tonight I need to make a trip to Walmart or a dollar store to see if I can find some just right containers that aren't clear.
