400w Romulan, Sour Diesel, Lavender, Some other random thing

Ok kids I'm just transfering this from icmag. No one really seems to read much over there so I figured I'd try my luck here. Also its a little confusing here cuz at first I didn't know I was growing only 3 Lavender and 2 other random things.

I will be growing Romulan, Sour D's, and Lavender. So far the Romulans and one Sour Diesel have already made it under the 400w while the others are still vegging.

Running 400w adding 1000w sometime in the coming weeks switchable ballast on metal halide right now for vegging.

I am growing in two chamber one I built myself its my own flood table (4x4) that I was planning on using this grow for a nylon wick system I was going to build for watering but didn't get around to it this grow. Maybe next time! But the point was to only flood the table a couple inches and have the plants absorb all the water and nutes they would need.

My second room is in a Hydro-Hut and its got fluorescents for my clones. So far no problems with the hut but that may be because im not using a hot lamp in it. (Ended up taking them out because of Hydro-huts plant killing problem even though nothing had gone wrong as of yet, more just to be safe.)

I am using all EarthJuice nutrients for the veg. and am switching to foxfarm for the bloom.

ALSO ONE of my plants the Sour D that is under the 400w seems to have some slight discoloration just around the node where the leaves split off into 5. Id like to say its almost drying out looking. Kinda looks like dry cracked skin to me? Dunno how well you can see it in the pictures. Im not at all really sure with this one any help would be awesome.

Ok this is the one Sour Diesel with a little discoloration. Dunno if you'll be able to see it but its only on the branches at the top it seems. And yea looks like cracked skin can't say much else...



Okay and here at the Lavender and a few more Sour Diesel clones im trying to save.. Don't really know what happened with them but they haven't wilted since I transplanted them which is actually odd and they only started looking like that while they were still under the humidity dome. I dunno any idea's on that either?

Okay and here's my second update

So i decided just to fuck it and not risk it if my Hydro-Hut is fucked up or not. So yesterday I just built a new veg chamber just sticking two totes on top of each other and covering the outside in black sheeting.

And what looks to actually be turning out like something else maybe sativa-ish? I dunno I did just hear that I also did get two clones that were not Lavender so... sweet.... who knows?



I could have very well mixed them up if anyone can re-identify but it is still early.

Oh and the Sour Diesel that have seem to come back. The roots are actually visible through the bottom of these pots so good yeah? Im surprised. But the ones dead and gone obviously. Probably Hydro-hut killed the weak clone I couldn't explain the yellowing another way at the moment... Could have been lack of nutrients from just surviving under the dome without soil or any nutes for too long except for just JumpStart once a day as a foliar spray.

welcome to GC man.. i had some hydro hut issues in the past as well. The new one i'm using has been fine running 1000 watts.
If you wanna be sure just take a healthy rooted cutting and throw it in the hut and see what happoens in a few days.. you'll know if it's safe or not by then.
Looks like the SD is coming back for ya.. gl with the grow man.

Alright here's todays pics of just the Lavender and other things.. All's well although I think I over nuted a little so I'm making them their own mix to I don't have to feed them the same that I'm feeding the Romulan's... even though it's still about as weak as I could mix it but I guess soil just fine enough for them now...

And yea about those fluro's Mr.Sparkle I actually tried to find out they were gifted from a roommate when he moved out. Their pretty powerful though I had a little problem with wilting with them being any closer... Could probably move them up a little though..

Alright heres the 5-19 update. Transplanted all the healthy ex-clones into my flowering room which still has the 400w in there with the metal halide bulb right now.

Little issues I think the little Sour D guys may have actually started to get some lock out issues from the soil P.h. I'm pretty sure it's because I watered them with fresh and then switched back to nute water and those two definitely do not mix i've discovered so i'll probably have to flush but should be too bad since their still in small pots...



And here's the room.... Looks fuckin' wayyy better with all the plants in there. Gives me a sense of being complete. haha.

looks like they bounced back nicely for ya! Personally i'd chill on the nutes, they seem to have just recovered and they look so nice.
bummer about those dour d's. Maybe since they're in such small pots you might be better off transplanting into some fresh soil instead of flushing? (just a thought. fresh soil does wonders sometimes).
What kind of soil are you using?

Yea fuckin' hydro-huts and Im wayyy to lazy to have mailed mine in yet HA. Oh yea foxfarm OceanForest and LightWarrior at a 2/3 mix.

Yea though Im so stoked. Fresh soil would be an option probably although I gotta work on some midsize pots.

yeah i hear that man.. i threw mine in the trash. Rather take the $150 loss than have to give my name and address out to someone else. I'm stoked that my larger one is doing fine after a few harvests. What size was your hut? My bad one was the 3'x3' and my good one is the 52"x52"

Yes they look much improved. As August suggested lay off the nutes let the plants recover adding nutrients will only slow this process allow the plants establish themselves with the available nutes in the soil they will not need more until a week or more. Be patient and you will be rewarded.

Hey anyone got any idea's for extra cooling. My grow room has never been over 80 but since it's getting so hot outside I'm wondering what other cooling options there are besides air conditioner or besides cutting a hole in the wall since it's in the bathroom and not really connected to any other rooms or attics or anything... any ideas? Because it's only going to get hotter outside...

Do you have a window in this bath/grow room? if not besides a AC unit they also have what you call a evaporative cooler that you fill with ice and cold water they are good for maybe -5 degrees but add extra humidity and are a bit pricey for low performance. I have seen some people use dry ice for CO2 but it also has a cooling effect when used in a sealed room but can get a bit expensive when its used everyday. But for a small room your best bet is a Portable AC unit they are costly but will give you -10 degrees or so in a small room with limited lights.
