Well, here we go again... (Blue Widow, Purple Cindy, Papaya, Ice)

Ok, this journal is my 2nd attempt to grow some buds.

The plants are currently in their 3rd day of 12/12.

*** Here is the setup:

Growroom: Homebox XL
Lights: 600W MH (veg) & 600W HPS (bloom)
Soil: FF Ocean Forest and about 15 - 25% perlite
Watering Schedule: 2 times a week (1 time with just evaporated tap and 1 time with ff nutes at 1/2 strength)
Odor Control: Goblin filter and 6" Vortec blower.
Fans: 2 6" clamp-on fans and 1 huge occilating fan if needed

***** OK, Here's the story! *****

These guys started vegging months ago in a Hydro Hut!
The Hut began killing them!!!!
*** The 1st pic is an example of what the hut can do to a plant if you have the wrong model (i.e. the toxic one...lol)!!

So, I kept 'em alive in a closet with a cfl (thanx Agust West!) until my Homebox arrived.

Set everything up and they revovered in about 10 days

**** Problems?!!

1) About a week ago I transplanted into final containers (5 - 5 gallon grow bags and 4 3 gallon pots) and I noticed wierd spots forming on some leaves.

It looked like something was sucking them dry so I thought it might be a bug of some sort? However, I see nothing like that.

I sprayed them with FF 'don't bug me' anyhow just to be sure.

- My water's pH is always 6.5 - 7.5 so that is ok.
- I only use nutes 1 time a week and at 1/2 strength.
* anyone know what this is?!!!

7) I clipped this, but this has happened to a LOT of the bottom leaves. I know some bottoms will do this, but all?

8) Ok, this is a HUGE issue.. some branches with growth tips will be bent in several areas and those bends will tuen brown... then black... then then die off! I had no choice but to cut a few off!
(Are they so under watered that they are no longer turgid enough to support themspeves?)

8) My biggest! This is a Sativa strain called Ice.

Sorry for the huge-ass post, but I was running this 2nd grow and was extremely pleased with myself until disaster struck.... again...lol


Oh, and sorry for the xtra-long hiatus from the forums... I have been running a massive experiment for my professors with the toxic hydro hut.. seriously! I will graduate with distinction with a B.S. in Bio thanks to that damn thing..lol

It is a known issue with Hydro Huts - caused a HUGE stir on a lot of these forums until they had no choice but to recognize the problem and finally they issued a recall on the thing.

Apparently, they started making the tent part cheaply in China and the Chinese were treating it with a toxic softener that was off-gassing Cl2. Problem is that instead of off-gassing for a week or 2, it was imbedded in the material and would off gass for the half-life of Chlorine gas (like 100 years or more..lol).

I think my issues are a combo of over-nuting and underwatering

I fed them yesterday and the leaves are MUCH worse today... so I am going to give each a 3 gallon water flush and then cut the nutes back to 1/4 strength.

Yea the hut was killing mine too. What a bummer I haven't even gotten around to sending mine in yet ha.

But watering twice a week seems very little... I usually try to stick to 200 mL of water a day. And im pretty sure mixing fresh water and nutrient water that often can upset the soil P.h. but I could be wrong since your only watering twice a week...
