Sick 1st Grow - Stealth Indoor - CFL Bulbs Non Ballast

Hi all I started my first grow in an edited version of the Rubbermaid Stealth Box. Instead, I used a Rubbermaid trash can. On the lid I have posted:

1x - Surface Mount 4S Box w/ 3-Socket Fixture
2x - Dual Single to Double Bulb Conversions?
4x - 14w Fluorescent Bulb 950 Lumen Output 950x4
1x - 24w Fluorescent Bulb 1300 Lumen Output
1x - 12V DC Computer Fan for Exhaust

All together I am getting 5100k Lumens in a 2ft Tall x 1'5"ft Wide (Bottom) 1'7" Wide (Top)

I have aluminum foil rapped around the entire trash can although I have heard negative feedback on foil. I understand mylar or white walls would work better. I simply do not want to go through all the work of stripping all the interior once again.

Inside the can I have the following:

1x - 12V DC Computer Can for Circulation
1x - Roll of Aluminum Foil (37 sq. ft.)
1x - Roll of electrical tape holding foil together Heat shrinks it causing foil to cave in.
1x - Intake hole with over-sized fan force-feeding air into intake.

Also, I know the hole is entirely too small for an intake. I'm going to cut a hole a bit bigger and throw another 12V DC computer fan in there for a better intake.

I am growing 5 different plants all bagseed varying from kush to silver haze. Hoping a good grow. If you have any advice, knowledge on indoor stealth growing it would be greatly appreciated. Above are pictures of the setup, and of my plants... Hope fully I get some kind of feed back.

Thanks, C22.

You look pretty prepared. Just I wouldn't use tin foil as reflectors because they create heat spots. other than that, good luck growin!

Pictures of my Babies

Well, you wanted pictures. I took a few of my indoor plants.

Allthough the seeds we're stored seperately from other strained seeds, I lost track of which strain is which. But here are some pictures you wanted...

Plant 1
Green Shock

Plant 2
Charo Top

Charo Side

Plant 3
DOHC Side

Plant 4
Slater Side

My 1st Transplanted Into Bigger Pot
Transplant Angle

(Why does it look like this plant is shriveling up and dieing?)

So you say to spray the walls white. I have heard that KILZ has an anti-fungal in it. Does the same KILZ with anti-fungal some in aerosol? I do not want to take a roller or brush to it due to the fact that I am after all- a stoner.

Thanks for the replies and opinions. Anything and everything (even criticism) is appreciated... Like I said- first stealth grow. Only knowledge I have on indoor is whats posted here. Which has already been very helpful.

Thanks guys,

C22

:-( Nute burn on last plant?

Well, I did fail to mention that I, like a n00b idiot, thought incandescent would give some kind of temperature for the plants that would promote growing and the light got a bit too close to the plant... The plant burnt, turned a little yellow and shriveled up. I spread the leaves apart a bit and threw some water on it and it came back within a day. Now it looks like it withering away again... I will try to change the soil to topsoil. Also like a n00b I used shitty soil with moisture traps in it and wood chunks... Like I said I'll change to topsoil and update tomorrow...

Any advice in the mean time would be greatly appreciated so keep the information if you'd like

Thanks,

C22

!!!!!!UPDATE!!!!!!
I put the nute burned/ heat stressed plant in some top soil with no nutes or anything at all. Hopefully this'll cure my babies fever.... Anyways, get at me with any advice. I'm gonna try to get some of the KILZ aerosol. Which works best though? Flat, Semi-Flat, Semi-Gloss, or Glossy? My guess is glossy... Get at me with a more educated response asap please.

C22

P.S. If plant shows no new growth or anything should I toss it? Or hold on to it and make it a little Frankenstein Project?

Also, for information on the first plant- a cup fell from the cop of the can holding the lid open for a bit of ventilation when I didn't have the fans set up. The cup didn't completely break the plant but bent it and it could not hold its own weight. I have a string holding the stem straight, if the stem did not completely detach or rip anywhere around, will the stem grow stronger on only that spot, all the way down, or will my best baby die before i get half way through veg? Answers would be great. Indoor is completely new to me... Thanks guys.

:-( Hopefully not bad news...

Well, after I transplanted my plants into the topsoil I went to the physical therapist and came back to quite a shock... Check it out-

Plant 1
Green Shock Top (1st Problem)

Green Shock Angle (1st Problem)

Plant 2
(1st Problem)

Am I over watering? Please don't let me be the idiot n00b grower that overwatered his plants... Might it be shock from the transplant from shitty soil to top soil? The soil shouldn't need any nutes or anything in the soil yet due to the fact that I'm not a month into the grow yet, correct?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!

Someone come answer my question, I spend my whole day on this forum and after about at least 4 hours I'm over going from the closet to the computer over and over and over again.

Any response would be GREATLY appreciated beyond belief. Alright everyone. Blaze on, RIPPP THAT SHIIIIIT.

Oh.... BTW... I'm out to smoke resin :-( Save me from myself.

Real quick everyone... (In case you haven't realized I check this my thread religiously for info, techniques, advice, and any known knowledge) Would my plant be soft stemmed and not be able to support the leaf sets due to the fact of the temperature? It has been unusually warm today... In case thats the fact, I threw a 6 inch fan blowing into the top of the can, took the lid of the can and lifted the lights to about 6 inches, and rigged my circulation fan to blow directly on the plants that are mainly sagging... Should I water ir wait it out? I don't want to lose my babies

Hurry please? I really need to know...

Thanks,

C22

you need to grab a chair and just take a seat man, this game is a long one. while in pots that size they will need to be watered with about 1-2 cups of water every 2-4 days. if the soil looks dry then put your finger in to check, if it feels dry then water it. if it feels damp, check it when you wake up the next day and proceed as needed.

it's best to keep your fan on all the time if possible, but you can run it a few hours a day and get by as long as the temp doesnt get too high, buy a thermometer if you need to, you will never guess how cheap they are at the .99 store.

use glossy paint, but if you want it to be even easier, go to an arts/crafts store (or somewhere else) and buy a few sheets of white posterboard. where i am you can go to Michael's, they come with a glossy side and flat side, just put them in your trashcan and they will take the same shape, tape them in if you need to. Glossy side towards plants.

weed plants are pretty hardy, meaning they generally strong and will cope with their growing environment if it's not freezing cold or a burning hot. you are giving them some good conditions, all you have to do now is watch.

read the thread in my signature called Grow Journal w/ Pics....I started out very similar to you, and you can see everything i used, everything i did, and best of all the shit ton of pics i took. happy growing my friend.

last question, if you are at a homies house, why are you doing a little trashcan grow? make him clear out his closet

cupcheck

Thanks for the reply cupcheck. I set up some kind of crutch for the little plants... Is it possible to start LSTing this small? Just to get the stem to gain some strength? My main one is the on the 3 leafset... Its coming along the best and I don't want to let it go to something stupid...

About the white walls.... I am going to get a new can, with a new top. All my 4S box is held on by is 2 screws... Easy switch. And I'll probably go glossy white on the walls... Make it a bit neater. I'm not about to make my grow environment nasty and unorganized... I need to cut cleaner holes for my fans anyways...

Anyways, thanks for the reply cupcheck and congratulations on that beauty of a grow... BEAUTIFUL plant.... Sorry to read the last attempt was a male Better luck next time.

Thanks,

C22

keep the fan blowing on the plants
that wil alow u to keep the lights close
the wind must be strong enough to make em shiver a bit
i usually keep CFLs about 3-4 inches away - but it depends on the power
my 85 - 105W CFLs are more then 6 inches away and the plants like it

the damaged plant will make it if the stem is not broken or seriously bended in submission make shure the suporting thing u use not damaging it too
and dont use any shit that can soak water

the stressed plants are always slower growing cuz it takes time to recover from stress

if u changed the soil it might as well be a stress - but u better ask some soil gurus here like augustwest feel free to hit anyone in private if u have a problem
but i think u dont have one - dont owerwater them

:-( The two problem plants show no prevail? And More questions...

Dude, whats going on with those plants? I repotted them into some top soil and since then my two best growing plants have completely withered away.... They look like they are drying out.... My topsoil has no nutrients in it but I thought thats how you are supposed to start em? May it be the fact that I started it out with a different soil that may have had nutes or something in it that were helping up until the point of the soil change? My other 3 seem fine though?

All in all, if the 2 plants die, I have a new batch germination... Why does the cup of water for germination method work so much better than the damp paper towel? (In my opinion) After 2 days in paper towel I saw no sprouts... Came home today from work (3rd day all together, 1st in water) and at least 10 have sprouted a bit....

How long should the sprout out of the seed be before I plant it???

Also, any information. knowledge, or advice my sickies would be extremely appreciated.... I don't mind planting 2 or 3 new ones, but why do that if I can bring my others back to life?

Get back at me ASAP!!!

Thanks GC,

C22
