Rev's Super Stealthy Super Tiny "I just want free bud!" Grow

This is my first grow of "whatever" proportions! Right now I'm looking for a start, some knowledge, and free homegrown bud. I'm not going all out on this at all. I'm doing a super stealth grow in a dresser of mine. I have little room so I'll be keeping the plants in small containers their whole lives. I only have room for one light. That one light happens to be 17watts, 120v, 60Hz OTT Plant Bulb. It looks like this and is pretty bright, so it''l have to do.
I just want a small yielding grow just to say "I did it!" and for tons of knowledge for when I start growing "for real." So let me introduce you to my two children.

Meet Sprout. This bugger took almost four days to germinate. Now it's finally showing life.

Here it is by the light.










And this is Seedy. I see it's starting to form a root so I'll plant it later today.

nice duder, how much do you expect to obtain from one or two plants? bagseed grow op? I did something similar to this when I was in my college apartment, I had like 30 or 40 seeds and about 12 germinated and I planted all of them. Hopefully you get females, you are really only giving yourself a 50/50 change with two plants.

I don't expect much yield from them since I'm growing so small. But I'm not looking for something huge. I'm just looking for an "I did it!" Yes, this is bagseed. So with two plants my odds of a female are 50/50. If I get two females should I plant one in the woods by my house or bonsai it?

Edit: Within a few hours of me being gone I notice growth. Nature never fails to keep me in awe.

Is it possible for that plant to fully grow inside that cup (not full-size, just live its entire life as if it was planted outside) and produce buds? I thought the roots wouldn't have room to grow causing the plant to die. Then again, I know nothing about planting, so this might be a dumb question.

Yes it can. The plant will be smaller, no doubt, and the number of buds will be decreased, but where ever you plant it, it will grow. I've seen a grow contest where some people grew a plant out of a shot glass and saw who got the most bud. It was pretty interesting. Here's the thread here.

How tall do you think the plant will end up when it's finished? I may try something like this.

i dont think youll make it in solo cups man, ive ried trust me,

they will get so rootbound that where is no soil to hold food and water and it wont be able to take in anything,

Hope you get something out of this man!!If i were you,i'd try and find some more lights,any old ones laying around the house you might be able to pinch without someone noticing!I read that you get 0.5 grams per watt of light,so if u have 17 watts you could expect 8.5 grams?Are you gonna flower it early?Im really interested to see what will happen here!!!!

I'm doing 12/12 from seed. So I'm happy with whatever I get. I can't complain! And we do not have any CFLs or growing lights around the house. This is gonna have to do for a while.

Some pics. Day 5 since germination of Sprout.

Since the light is coming from the side rather than above, I'm trying a natural LST. Looks bendy so far.




And here's the group photo. I put seedy in the 2nd cup a few days ago. We should see it poking it's head up pretty soon.

Quick pic update. Sprout is looking healthy. It's growing sideways, but healthy. Seedy is still trying to poke it's head out of the soil. I see about 1mm of green.

this is the super low budget one LOL)
well i think u will grow it untill roots fill the whole cup
and u defenetly should keep on growing for some expirience
not for buds mate sorry - the plants will be pritty ugly with the light on one side
now u can turn it around all the time to shape it a bit but after itll be a problem
if i were u i would find some CFL lights thay can be really slim and u can hang em right above the plants and have some more space for the soil containers that should fill the whole space u can give em if u want some more chanses

To tell you the truth, I'm not sure how tall they will be. I want them to stay short by LSTing them, but if I need to, I can use up to about three feet tall in growing space. But I doubt they'll reach that height in party cups.

As for the light. It's called an OTT Plant Bulb. I found it in my house and I didn't think it was going to work. But lo and behold, it shines. Describing this light to you makes me feel so unprepared. It's 17watts, and I'm not sure if it's a CFL or what. Their website says it's equal to 70 incandescent bulbs and it gives off very little heat. I bought the base for the light some years back. It came with funky colored light bulbs and I used it for parties. The OTT Light fits right in and it can be used safely in the lamp base.
