MJ Look-alike breeding project! Interesting.

April 28th 2008

Hey everyone, no cannabis here...HOWEVER I am currently working on a breeding
project to make a cannabis sativa look-alike.

I recently discovered Hibiscus Cannabinus v "Tainung #2" on wikipedia and found that
its leaves and stem structure greatly resemble MJ.

One problem though is that it grows to about 20-30 ft tall =/.
So right now I'm growing a small batch with more on the way trying to find the
right leaf shape, color, size to make a MJ look alike.

Before putting this down though, just think of how it might be if someone
is able to grow a cannabis look-alike. It would be a great talking point, and
if the police feel the need to assert themselves, it could easily raise the public
interest to the insane measures the police and DEA will take to eradicate a few
"dangerous" plants.

Also, I think that some of the stigma against the image of cannabis leaves could be relieved if a MJ look-alike was a common garden plant.

Anyways...here's what everyone really wants

A few notes:
- They haven't developed the cannabis leaves yet, but in one of the photos you can see them developing
-The earlier pictures outside are from a few weeks ago
-you can see the shorter one I hope to breed for manageable heights =/

Update 18 June 08

Hey, I know I didn't get much attention the first time, but here are the kenaf plants about two months later.

It took a while to develop the palmate leaves, and they're not turning out quite how I hoped . I think that another strain was introduced a while back because the seeds I ordered from seedman.com aren't very homogeneous.

Oh and by the way, I planted another batch from another supplier in my garden bed a few weeks ago.
