My First Ever Grow (Check it out!!)

So here we go....
I had a few seeds from some mediocre buds a few weeks ago and thought to myself hey why not, so I sprouted them, hoping to maybe get a leaf or two...
Well it has turned out to be quite an ordeal and its makin me pretty happy, however I think I am rapidly approaching a crucial make or break point in my plants (I can't quite tell M/F yet)

So... Here's some pics from sprout til today (april 23)
Let me know what ya'll think...

please please please comment or question as I love to learn more about it!

This is the latest growth of my two as of today...

** Also, what light schedule should they be on at this point?

I'll keep this updated with pics though

I'm not sure to tell you the truth, it came out of some random bud I had... nothing great but it was all I really had to work with, so we'll see

Hey man looks good Im actually in the same position your in i found a bag seed and thought why not I'm a little further along then you it looks tho Im at 3 weeks how old are you? you should be on 24 hour light right now (or at least 18 on 6 off) with good air ventilation around her she should start growing pretty fast. mine is 5in tall but Ive topped it and trimmed a few leaves Im going to try to bonsai her that is if its a female. you can't tell sex to usually after 4 or 5 weeks when you get preflowers and sometimes not till you put her in to flower (Switch it to 12/12 light to start producing buds) Let me know how old she is and how you are set up and i can show you what Ive been doing if you want

I like it..

My box is quite rigged, its not completely closed as far as circulation and temperature either, its basically staying at room temp with a gentle fan...
I will head out to get a new bulb soon though

How do you go about making it bonsai? I actually would like to try that with one of the two

They are both (as of today) about 3.5 inches a piece...

Also, I have some basic pH strips it's not much but should the pH be mostly neutral at this point? I'll check it when i get some drainage water

Also, how do I go about topping it exactly... I have a general idea but i'd like some better instruction...

pH should be 6 - 6.5

topping is really as easy as it sounds just spread the fan leaves at the top and clip the new shoot coming up between them

first 2 pics show before and second 2 show after

these are my side branches but the top of your plant should look similar the leaves are probably bigger

how many nodes do you have like 2 or 3 maybe?

Update

Seems like its been forever since I first posted , but its only been about 3 days,

none the less...
I did top the first one today, its fourth node was just growing in... I'm thinking that was a decent choice...

Any comments? Questions? anything?

The first 2 are of my first plant, the other two are of the second plant which is about 2 days younger...

The stems were very stretched at first because I had them on a windowsill for the first 4 or 5 days of life (I know better now) and i have a fan to give some breeze and promote stem growth... The stems have seemed to get a bit thicker but only in the new growth areas up near the nodes, so my questions is... Will the original bits of the stem grow up a little more?

I believe my pH at this point is 7, I only have strips though so I can't be to sure they aren't that accurate, so ya like I said its a dorm set up so I'm doing what I can at this point... but questions and comments are always welcome!

Peace
