THesCientist's 12/12 100% LED Grow

Well, this is #2 in the LED realm. I decided to toss a few of my NYSD/Grapefuit mix under 12/12 LED from the start.

Come along as I embark on yet another...LED adventure.

As you may have seen from my last journal, I set up a new area in my computer cab, that I've affectionately named the CabLab.

Equipment: 4 256 LED 630nm Panels, 2 80mm PC fans

Medium: Organic Soil Mix (my own) This is my first EVER soil grow with mj.

I'm trying this grow with out any added nutes. There is a little in the soil, EWC & Guano...but not enough to write home about.

Wish me luck. New pictures this week.

Here's the 2 week-ish update.

Plants are looking super healthy, slight canopy, but I had that a little under the LED last time.

So far so good.

1st pic = 1 week from seed.

Enjoy!

wow they look great and the all red look is so cool, I too am pondering all LEDs at the moment

what are your plans when flowering comes?

when you say a little nutes in the soil, is it your own blend or a pre-nuted store bought mix? I'm very curious

nice man! you'll be fine w/ no nutes, just don't use distilled or RO water and transplant when needed.

good luck!!

sitting in on this grow for sure looks good and solid organic soil mixes are the way to go. I am going this route and just using bubbled teas to supplement them from time to time.

Yeah looks good. I only added ferts two times when I grew NL x BB; once for veg once for flower and they went all the way to 50 cloudy/ 50 amber on the trichs. How are yours that you had to prematurely cut? Was there at least enough THC to get high? The spectrum and type of LED bulbs here are the same as your last grow right? I don't know why yours browned out like that. I am worried it was the bulb because I did not recognize that as any deficiency etc.

I took these from sprout @ 12/12 under these LEDs. This is it for lighting, through flower. The soil is a mix of bark, Soil/Clay/Sand (60/20/20), ewc, guano, epsom in small amounts.

It was only a week early, and I still have not figured out what did it. I am doing another grow in there with just CFL, see if there is some sort of dust issue, a gas leak, something. I'm going to do a hydro grow that I know will go smooth, and see what the deal is. As for the high...yowza. No short order there...BAKED APPLE PIE. Good times.

These new girls are doing well from what I can see.

Good night!

nothing wrong w/ using distilled.. but you need to add something back into the water like calmag+ if you're gonna use it regularly.

Def +rep for the ongoing work into LEDs.

While on the subject of water I read that it is also advisable to leave the water for 1 or 2 days for the chlorine in it to evaporate. Seems to be working for me. Good luck with the grow.

So I was looking through your last journal and that's no good to what happened to your last crop. That sucks about the yield but that's great that it gets you ripped. Good luck with your grow man.
