By NO means am I an expert, I've just been reading around like yourself. From what I've gathered, topping a plant is cutting the stem just above the first or second set of nodes from the top. This should discourage vertical growth and encourage more foliage growth. An untopped plant will continue to grow tall in the sun (perhaps a bad thing if you're in a semi-public area)
That sound about right to the rest of you? Here is a good guide that I've read: http://forum.grasscity.com/absolute-...=topping+guide |

Here are the pictures for you folks...
Plant 1...looks like the leaves are still a little uneven...not really worrying. ![]() Plant 2...is looking pretty fiiine. ![]() ![]() Plant 3...I am very worried about this guy. I figure this condition is from getting pounded with rain, and also due to the large ferns that have now blocked the sun out from this little guy for a good portion of the day. Oh well... ![]() Plant 4 is doing pretty well, I think. ![]() Now, because I am so worried about plant #3, I planted two more seeds, where it seemed the most daylight shines. I wonder if these will sprout... I forgot to water them when I planted, but it has been raining a lot, and will continue to rain throughout the week, so I'm not so worried. ![]() Enjoy guys (Day 14 for 1,2,3,4) + (Day 1 for 5,6?) trim the fern back from the runt and just be patient with it, like AW said there is always a runt, but it still could be a female and produce buds, so why not baby it?

i wish my grow this year was simple and in one spot like that I have already put a lot of sweat/back ache and loss of sleep while working a full time job to keep putting plots of plants out But what we growers have to remember is all this work now is going to pay off when we have jars and jars of weed and will be able to smoke out anytime as much as we want year round.
