| Abyssal frequent flyer | DAY031 running 18/6 for 3 days after 28 days of 24/0 Things are good. No plants have shown any signs of transplant shock. ![]() Also I've haven't watered them only lightly after transplanting, to force the plants to put their energy into forming roots in the fresh soil, instead of more leaves. My babies can't grow if they can't eat and bigger mouths (read roots) help alot. So I gave'em a decent watering today right after taking the pics. Decent being about 10% of the volume of the pots. That's 300 ml of water for 3 liter pots. Here, have a look : I'm kinda itching to switch to 12/12 to presex and weed out the males. But the youngest 4 plants of these 10 are 8 days behind their older brethren, making them 23 days. So I should refrain from doing so and wait until they're 4 weeks of age. Exactly on (my) schedule. Have a nice grow!

| Abyssal frequent flyer | Re: fear's 6th grow. NLX from homegrown seeds. DAY112 enough of the stupid vegging ; hitting 12/12 with HPS tomorrow. I've been kind (lazy) enough to spare you all the vegging under fluro part of my sixth grow. There's enough of that stuff on this forum, and response on posts during vegging is kind of low, making me feel I'm wasting my time. The plants are kind of small to my liking for 112 days. I guess I've pushed the envelope of economy-growing a bit far by doing the first month under only 36W. In short, I did : 1 month of 36W 1.5 months of 108W and 1 month of 216W all fluro power ofcourse, averages out at 118.5W which is really low for an 8 sq. ft grow. Also, up until yesterday I haven't LST-ed at all but I've used the lawnmower technique. Simply cutting everything up until they're the same height out of sheer lazyness. The plants have gone 4 months without nuting. It's amazing how long you can pull that off if you stick with 1 plant per 8 gallon container filled with general potting soil + 50 grams of lime each. Ofcourse low light conditions also mean slow metabolism and thus slow nute uptake. Anyway, since I'm hitting 12/12 with the 400W HPS as of tomorrow morning I though I'd show you all what 3.5 months of 118.5W can do and use as a photographic baseline for reference during flowering. Check it out : You can see that the lawnmower technique in combination with low light conditions produce fairly skinny stems, those ain't no tree trunks. Time for the fun part now : nug formation!

Hey fear I was just thinking about you the other day and wondering where you and this thread have been. Now I know. They look great. Oh and IMgreen his last few vegg's were over 100 days long if I recall.

that man's got way more patience than me that's for sure vtec! |
| Abyssal frequent flyer | Re: fear's 6th grow. NLX from homegrown seeds.
Yeah low wattage = slow growth = record vegging times. But they're healthy allright so there's still some chance I'll beat my 84 eurocents per gram personal best. I miss smoking everyday because of this though. Actually suffered the indignity of buying a baggie at some coffeeshop over here. ![]() I kinda forgot what kind of CRAP they sell to tourist. It does get me wasted but the feel from it is outright shitty compared to the one-with-the-universe weed I got used to from homegrows in soil with early harvested Indica(hybrids). That's not gonna happen again, in my next grow I plan to hit 12/12 ASAP. (think 30-40 days from seed) Waiting for another 6 or 7 weeks more is not that bad when I've waited 3.5 months already. I started out with the HPS today for a few hours at about 1 meter distance from the plants. Don't wanna shock 'em into lightburn because they got too used to the faint fluros. As I drop the HPS to about 0.45 meters (1.5 foot) during the next week or two I have to be careful to keep the watering and nuting in synch with increased metabolism. They should be loving it. And it's good to be back to GC, I've really missed it. Too bad I don't have the time to follow some of the best growers on here like you two Green and August. Your journals simply contain too many posts too fast for me to keep up with.

My problem is my patience outlast my stash. I should stop torturing myself like this, you all know I love being stoned every night. Good to see the better growers on this forum are still checking out my progress. I'll get you some all pics on Sunday so you can see the plants change quickly as do I. That means that you will have to be a litte bit ..... patient? ![]() It's amazing what a proper light, some nutes and some water can do for plants that have vegged for so long. The root system they've developped covers all corners of those 8 gallon containers by now, it's bound to pay off. That's the plan anyway....

a massive root system sure cant hurt fear when was the last time you had to buy before this recent embarassment? |
| Abyssal frequent flyer | Re: fear's 6th grow. NLX from homegrown seeds.
It's never a 'had to buy' situation with me. I bought the CRAP like four weeks ago, and before that I cannot even remember how long ago it was I actually bought some weed. I take tolerance breaks of 3 months or so while waiting for my next harvest, then I harvest and like smoke 2 months daily. I bought the CRAP because some guy from some country came over to the Netherworld....uhhm...lands and I wanted to show him the better parts of this swamp I live in. If he would not have visited me, I probably would not have bothered to purchase the CRAP from a coffeeshop but would have waited until my next harvest. Patiently.....ofcourse.
