1st Grow Journal - MasterKush / FoxFarms / Closet

Hello All,

This is my first grow-op and my first grow journal. I am doing this because it will be a good exercise for me, and hopefully, the remaining weeks to come will prove to be educational for all those viewing (and for myself as well ). Please feel free to suggest, criticize, or question me on my growing adventure and the much anticipated weeks to come.

This grow-op is already six weeks in progress. I started out with two feminised (Dutch Passion) Master Kush seeds, FoxFarms Ocean Forest (~60/40 perilte mix), and have had these two mothers under 24hrs of fluros (cool and warm white bulbs) since the beginning of February. These first few pix show the general room setup.

Designing the flowering room is still a work-in-progess. I'm anticipating that there will be a smell issue in the future. So, I will be constructing a DIY, activated-carborn scrubber in the weeks to come. Currently, I'm still testing the temperature issue with the design I have. As you can see, I'm preparing for some kind of vertical grow technique in my flowering room.

Week 1 - March 23 (7 days since cuttling)

Hello Again Everybody,

It's now been 7 days since these eight cuttlings/clones were taken from the mothers. The propagation chamber lid was removed about three days ago because green mold had started to appear in the medium. Two of the cuttlings were accidentally tipped over while they were being re-arranged (oops!). And, are now struggling to look pretty like the other ones.

Week 2 - March 31 (14 days since cuttling)

Hello All,

The cuttlings are now 2 weeks old and have been transferred into larger pots and moved to the flowering room. Only six of the healthier cuttlings have been choosen out of the eight to be flowered. These babies will be under 250 watts of MH for 24/7 until they reach 12" tall. After that, they'll be switched to 250 HPS under 12/12.

As for the ventillation/heat issue, pix #2 sums up how the air is re-directed out of the closet. Although not a perfect design, I think 78-82 degrees and 45% humidity should be tolerable for the plants.

Week 3

Hello All,

I hope everybody is safe and well. The clones are doing great. I'd say another week before I turn them to 12/12. What do you guys think? Here's some updated pix.

Week 3 Continued

Hello Everybody,

Wow! More than 200 views! I am flattered... I'll smoke to that! Moreover, I hope this DIY project of mine inspires somebody to start their own garden.

The light source is now switched to a 400W HPS bulb and turned to 12/12. I'm starting to notice some height issues though. Being that clippings were taken from two different mothers, some clones are now slightly taller than others. (Note to self: take clippings from the same mother next time.) And, as an extra challenge for myself, I thought it'd be interesting if I threw in the weaker of the two mothers to flower also. I'm not sure how this is going to turn out. But, I was going to toss this mum out. So, I'm prepared to destroy this mum, if the height or smell issue becomes too prevalent.

Enjoy the pix!

Yeah, I'm curious to know how these turn out too... first time with MK. I also have White Label MK seeds, that I'm planning for my next mums. Thank you for viewing my journal and the encouraging remarks!

Week 5 Clones / Week 2 of Flowering

Hello Everybody,
I hope everyone is having a safe and happy 420!

Well, it's been about two weeks since the light cycle was turned to 12/12. I took out the weakest clone in the flowering chamber because she just wasn't catching up with the others. So, now I'm down to five clones and the mum that's in flowering. Enjoy the pix!
